Fucking awesome mix Rob, so many wicked tracks. Great flow too. The only technical issue I noticed was that the mix gets noticeably louder as you mix in the track at around 5 mins. Other than that, completely ninja.

But, was this mix better than 'Gonzo'?

...

Not for me, Gonzo is still the best work you've done, from my perspective, anyway.

This is definitely a close second

Thanks for the tunes mate.

Thanks, as always, for the listens, comments, and well-wishes. A couple of things...

RE: Sound quality, @Greg and Stu - the blame, unfortunately, falls to me on the poor quality of the beginning. Specifically with the mix out of "Think Twice" and the mixes/quality of "Raw Cuts #6" - both of those tunes have a little bit different (or, for lack of a better term, raw) mastering to them, and I genuinely cocked up the mixing and EQ'ing of each - so basically the mix was normalized in post to try and put a bandage on those issues, but obviously it wasn't as successful as I'd hoped.

Anyway, I hope it doesn't hurt the listenability too much.

Oh, ha, I should have looked here before sending that message...dling now, welcome back, Rob!

This mix was groovy and fun. Not the sort of sound I generally go for myself, but it was highly enjoyable.

In other words --

COME BACK ROB I'M KNITTING YOU THINGS

Hmmmm, didn't get a message from you, Chrissi - but thanks for the "hello."

And just to (somewhat) clarify for a few, while I do appreciate the warm wishes and "welcome back"'s, I don't have any intention of really contributing or being a part of these forums like I used to. I do miss interacting with, and especially chatting music with, a large number of TA's, but the combination of a demanding career out of college and a number of strained relationships with many people I knew quite well here mean that, for better or worse, my time as a "Trance Addict", much like my time as a part of the scene in Chicago, is pretty well done. Frankly, it was easier for me to walk away than deal with the stress and frustration attempting to remain a part of either had brought me.

For lack of a better method, Facebook is a pretty well brilliant way of getting a hold of me should anyone care to.

Thanks boss - hope you enjoyed it, appreciate the support (though I'm guessing I'll have gone from ~121 in 2007 to off the charts in 2009, lol).

This set was really dope from beginning to end. I really enjoyed it man.

this makes me sad

Nothing to be sad about m8 - it's a good thing. We all change (right, arcadia190? rediiculase!) and grow as the years go on, and much like the musical tastes of individuals change, so too do other aspects of their lives.

For my part, fighting that change only made me miserable, and I could only take a passive role in its resolution for so long. The number of curve-balls life threw at me over the course of the last 18 months was something I was totally and utterly unprepared for, and regardless of the support of friends and family, they were mine to deal with, and no one was going to "do it for me." Regaining the confidence, as well as figuring out just how to go about it, took time - and change, which has been a pretty positive thing for me.

/tl;dr

Makes a lot of sense, HOWEVER, it still makes me sad

Finally gave this a listen. I had been waiting until I had the time to listen to the whole thing on one go.

Like I've always said, you have a way of imprinting your sets with your unique style and this one is not an exception. It's unmistakeably Rob Turner. Fantastic mix.

I think the Dinah Washington track was one of the best pulled off transitions in the mix, actually. I didn't even noticed it coming in and then you mixed out of it very smoothly. If it was a pain in the ass to mix it, you surely made it seem easy.

Hope to hear a new one from you soon.

I've listened to this many times since you posted it up on Facebook. Really nice mix. I hope this means you will be posting here again a little more frequently lol

Doubtful, m8. No time or desire.

Like I said before, love you kids, appreciate the support more than you'll ever know, but not really looking to reconnect with the TA's, or more specifically, the bulk of MWTA's. It's all just indicative of a time in my life I'm extremely glad to have behind me, and I'm not looking to revisit.

And wow. Sushi as mod?

That actually sounds just about perfect. Well in, boss.
