I love how when your shit jokes fall flat, they're suddenly not jokes any more.

Oh no, wait. You were being serious, right? You were seriously suggesting that packing your belongings should resemble a classic 80s videogame, and our responses were supposed to be thoughtful ruminations on this revolutionary idea. Indeed, with a little luck this thread would see the first scientific hypothesis aimed at making this Tetris-house-moving dream a reality.

And because I think it was a shit joke means I must find it funny on one level? What kind of ridiculous fucking logic is that? So if I told you "Why did the chicken cross the road? To get to the other side" and you went "Shit joke", deep down you were laughing on some level? Fuck off.

Oh, and in before your prefab "I don't care" speech. Count the number of posts you've made in response to me in this thread and then tell me you aren't bothered.

Yeah, I was seriously suggesting that it would be awesome if packing were that simple. It wasn't a joke, but it wasn't meant to be taken literally either, dickhead. God you're thick.

Seems pretty straight forward to me. When this technology is finally developed I'll be sure to remind you how much of an ass you were while all your belongings are being teleported away. Shithead.

Oh and I'll be sure to let you know how my moves goes. Maybe you can make it for the housewarming party we're having on Halloween. Don't worry if you can't find a costume in time, just come as yourself. I'm almost positive nobody else wants to dress a huge vagina.

But your theory is riddled with flaws. You've failed to take into account the increasing speed of the task every time ten lines are cleared. Your packing would rapidly descend into a frantic, energy-sapping rush, lest the boxes pile up to the ceiling in defiance of all known principles of gravity. On closer inspection, this is an incredibly stupid proposition and I reject it out of hand.

Oh, and if you didn't intend it to be a joke, why were you so dismayed at the thought The Simpsons got there first? Whoops...

Because I thought it was an original idea, moron. You're reading a little too far into it, lol. But I get it: you don't like me/you think I'm not funny. Wah wah.

poor jen

I actually d/l'ed Tetris for my phone last night to keep my mind occupied with something other than the pain I was in. Really did the trick.

Yeah... you fucked up this thread on all counts, didn't you? Still, you can say you had the teleportation idea. I'll leave you now, so you can discuss that very same deep, interesting and entirely unfunny-but-not-meant-to-be-dickhead idea at length with your chums.

Two moves ago, I had a limited set of boxes to fit all my stuff in, and half of it was fragile. I succeeded, with just barely enough space to spare. It was just like Tetris. I had no dead space left in the boxes. It was a bitch to unpack though because I had random stuff in every box, from every room, just because I had to make maximum use of space regardless of categories the stuff belonged to.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-15-2009 18:17:

Haha, well...I have no shortage of boxes that's for sure. I just get 'em for free from the bf's warehouse. I don't even mind packing...it's unpacking and putting shit away that I dread.

Posted by kamil on Oct-15-2009 21:05:

you're all sluts.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-15-2009 22:31:

Alright, now what about everything that's not clothes?

Posted by Echo of Silence on Oct-16-2009 01:17:

I hate moving. God. I'm technically living in 4 places now because I'm too lazy to officially move out of any 1 place but but but the good thing about moving is you're able to get rid of all the stuff you don't really need and organize what you decide to keep.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-16-2009 01:22:

I agree...although I don't keep shit I don't need to begin with. I let go of the need to keep stuff when we sold our house 10 years ago, with all the contents in it. All my childhood toys, books, games, school projects, etc...gone.

I wish I wasn't so young when we sold it though...my sister and I would have have the foresight to keep our beautiful dining set and china hutch...AND all the china my grandmother sent from Hungary.

Oh well.

Posted by lcid on Oct-16-2009 02:29:

i think i might be the only person i know who actually enjoys moving... which is probably a good thing, considering i've moved 13 times in the last 9 years.

moving gives me the same feeling i get when i'm in airports - that perpetual motion of coming and going and exploring new destinations or returning home to people who care about you. i don't like staying in the same place for long.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Oct-16-2009 02:34:

I didn't mean to imply that I don't like moving...I like the excitement of a new place as well. Making a new home, etc. I think I'm just stressed this time in particular because I have to do it smack dab in the middle of the semester. I have 3 papers and 3 midterms to do next week. Ughhhh.

Posted by Omega_Blue on Oct-16-2009 02:35:

i love moving and "changing the scenery so to speak," i just hate carrying furniture and boxes upon boxes filled with heavy-ass books up and down three flights of stairs all day
