There are DJs like Ferry that can be great, or quite ordinary, depending on when or where you catch them. I'll give them a few chances, but if I hear bad sets over a year or so, then I'll usually pass on them for a while.

I agree here. I too used to like trance a lot but now I get bored with most of them. Back then I would travel to San Francisco to try to see all the trance djs I can but now I only go out for a selected few. So this is a perfect weekend for me because Sander Van Doorn and Christopher Lawrence are the only few trance djs that I still enjoy.

I just downloaded some sets from Ferry and Armin to see what they are spinning nowadays because I'm going to be at their Sacramento shows and just couldn't get into it like I used to. It all sounds the same to me like a few years ago. But I did prefer Ferry's sets over Armin.
