Armin and Markus are doing an Armin vs Markus night at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on December 5th.

This entails of them taking rounds of playing an hour or two each a couple times, with the last three or so hours of of the night having them doing back-to-back, track-to-track tag-teaming.

Anyhow, please make this happen somewhere in California.

Please?

Pretty please?

I am sure it'd sell a load of tickets. And it'd make a lot of us happy!

Thank you, good night.

I don't know if could get any better than that IMO

I'd travel anywhere along the west coast for this!

Posted by dj mccord on Nov-02-2009 02:27:

i would totally pay top dollar for this

As the only one whose seen this happen 3 times--sf, Miami, and Ibiza--I assure you svd or tyas with Simon Patterson would be superior to Markus and armin 09/10....AND in sf, the crowd would show up

Posted by DaveT on Nov-02-2009 04:52:

SvD vs Simon Patterson coudl be good. Just leave Tyas out of it. He has no reason to be included with the others as a DJ. He had one good night at Ten15. Everytime I've seen him (in SF and in LA) he has been nothing special at all. Not necessarily bad (though I thought he was boring at Circus)...just bland.

SvD vs Simon for too long might be overload though. Markus vs. Armin could go in more directions, IMO, and a better journey. I think it'd actually make Armin play better stuff and we'd get to see a lot of old school Markus.

And don't pull out "I've seen them this many times" thing. When has that worked around here....never...and we (including myself) all still do it!

Posted by R!CH on Nov-02-2009 05:05:

K Dave, well I'm just speaking from fairly credible experience, and I don't think anyone whose seen armin and Markus before they really blew up would disagree that they were both much better from 04-06

Posted by DaveT on Nov-02-2009 05:09:

maybe, but I don't think it means they wouldn't be great now.

I think it would be a long night of hearing all the great tracks they've played over the years. ANd not just the last couple.

And they are two DJs doing an event where it's about them and their tag-teaming later on. So it's an event they might be willing to do out here. Otherwise, I would have never made this thread.

Posted by R!CH on Nov-02-2009 05:12:

If they played anything like asot 163 pt 2 and gdjb 01-10-2005, ya, but I highly doubt it

When is Markus back in the west btw?

Posted by modthispny on Dec-25-2009 01:28:

imo markus is a better dj and producer.

armin plays too much vocals, and even though markus does play a vocal or two, they dont seem as cheesy.

i still love both though of them though.

Posted by R!CH on Dec-25-2009 01:32:

what are you talking about? they both play hella vocal, cheesy, emo shit trance these days. doesn't anyone remember what they used to sound like? i feel like i'm taking crazy pills here...

well right now markus > armin.

i just got into the scene a little over a year ago so i missed their original sound.

Posted by R!CH on Dec-25-2009 01:44:

markus was always better than armin imo, but listen to these...

http://www.intellexual.net/edm/sets...%20Part%201.mp3

01. Maurice & Noble - Hoochie Coochie Man
02. Client - Radio (Cicada Dub)
03. Sean Walsh Pres Jagermaestro - Quarter Century
04. Ava Mea - In the End
05. ID
06. DJ Remy vs Tom McRae - You Only Disappear
07. Mike Foyle pres Statica - For Your Eyes Only

the dj remy mashup is baller. speaking of which, when was the last time markus made a dope ass mashup like rr workshop vs ridgewalkers ft el vs deep dish? that was markus in his prime...

http://www.intellexual.net/edm/sets...004%20Part2.mp3

01 Cassino & Laben vs Claude - Ma Te
02 Madoka - Afterburner (Max Graham Remix)
03 Lolo - Why
04 Graylock - Dive To Survive
05 Enmass - CQ
06 DJ Danjo & Rob Styles - Duende (Signum Remix)
07 Exertion - Partizan (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Mix)
08 Armin vs M.I.K.E. presents Electric Movement - Intruder

armin proving that trance is best without emo lyrics

Posted by moretechplease on Dec-25-2009 07:20:

Even Markus two years ago at ETD Pop was significantly different than what he plays now. I still love to see him and he's in my top 3 favorite DJ's but I haven't heard a set like that since...
