markus schulz just confirmed on his twitter that he will be playing at TAO
Yep, it's on his schedule.
Can finally talk about it, yay.
I think that was like the worst best-kept secret on here. I think it was clear some of us knew but yet no one gave any real hints.
How ironic that last year Armin Only packed the Sports Arena for NYE and this year we have only a "sprinkling" of Trance among mostly House lineups. If another promoter has access to a decent venue and would book a solid Trance/Prog/Techno lineup this NYE, I'm sure they'd clean house (no pun intended, well maybe...)
Hard to believe that I'm debating Giant with A&B as opener vs. TAO with maybe one Trance inspired DJ (not to say that I don't love Digweed, but I need some balance). WTF is the correct title for this thread, I'm only hoping that some more good Trance DJ's will be added to the lineups, but with Giant being smaller this year we don't have the luxury of a lot of time to decide...
If Markus closes, you could always do both!
Not a big Markus fan here, I know everyone is nuts about him, but have heard him several times and would rather hear Tiesto (so I'll save the $$ from TAO and use it Thanksgiving weekend).

it makes sense , 2009 was a house year, at least the promoters think it was so *in the US*. I mean, Deadmouse "headlining" the LoveEvolution thing gives it away, and the TAO flyer looks like a total disappointment (for trance heads)
So if Markus plays are you guys thinking he (one dj) is going to carry the Trance Flag, on NYE, all by himself? Sounds more to me like the promoter is just saving $$$ to pad his wallet more and more. I mean there is so much more trance talent readily available, but you the promoter has to be willing to pay for it and most importantly, you have to give a shit. Not just play favorites, and do the elitist "hook up" which promoting in California is getting to be. I can feel it.
Maybe there is more $ in House? I don't know, but I sincerely think that the fatties at Massive events like Go Ventures and Insomniac et al should bring down ticket prices from their astronomical numbers, what are we going to hit $100 a person in 2011? Maybe the world is going to end in 2012, so you guys want to cash out before it does right? sheesh.
Thats ok though, just keep headlining house acts, and continue to push the trance scene underground, it makes for better music anyway.

WHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
knew Markus was going to play at TAO awhile ago! Can not wait.. now I have to figure out what I am going to wear!
Markus puts me to sleep as well. TA has many Markus hardcore fans so wont bash, but I think with how many reacted to JOC at MM, hopefully harder (if you will) trance will be booked rather than proggy for these massives. Problem is they arent as well known so ill give promoters that.
