unless its a personal track i allways opt for a dj friendy intro as most dj's want there tracks in the 6 mins mark anyway. so i allow for 2 min in and 2 min out job done

i hate generic intros like that.

For long dj friendly intros, i've always really liked scot project's style
always very original and always very percussive.

A bit generic yes, but the kick drum comes in perfectly and that is a great effect on the dance floor. I'm not suggesting every intro should sound this way at all, but this is effective for what it does.
