After reading your description and seeing Mr. Scruff in the tracklist I was expecting something pretty varied and eclectic, but I can't really say that it was. I enjoyed the intro tracks but then this became a standard deep/tech set with the odd decent tune here and there (200 and One, Vincent Casanova, and So Long) but overall I think I've just got quite different taste to you. I haven't really loved any of the sets I've heard from you (One night on the way to, Divas and Dimentia, Bienvenue Au Freak Show) which is disappointing because you're mixing is really good, just not your trackselection for my taste.

Thanks for your interest and your honest feedback. I can't pretend to please everyone in terms of tracks, as we all have different likes and dislikes when it comes to music.

I felt like i covered a lot of territory in an hour, but i respect if you don't think it was "eclectic" enough. I do all of these on the fly, and to be able to to conserve a good work flow i sometimes have to limit myself via things like bpm, track structure and such (i rarely mix in key though). It can be hard (at least to me, i'll work on it) to be able to go too far over only an hour. One day i'll try and do a set in the spirit of System J's favourites guest thread. I have a large music collection, and i guess i should try and show it off more.

The fact that you do not necessarily "love" the sets but keep giving them a go is actually one of the nicest compliments you can give me as there are no shortage of talented DJ's on this site. I will always love open feedback over "nice mix", so thank you.

Don't work mondays so I'm giving her a home listen. You just have to be a fan of Electronic Music in general to like this one. Allmost all the tracks are unique and keep you attention the whole way through. Its hard to keep me focused for a full set and this one managed to do it.

Just finished listening to this and well, I was quite surprised. There's a lot of music that I wouldn't expect to hear on a set from you, specially the first half which was my favorite. It's nice to hear you change things up and make long, gradual blends as opposed to the quick, aggressive, fast paced mixing that I'm used to hear from you.

I don't know if this was your best set, but it was definitely the most varied of the ones I've heard.

it can be hard to be different, because you know as well as i that for a transition to be flawless there is more to it than the dj and it relies heavily on the tracks used. The eqs/filters can only do so much.


that being said, after listening to this for the first time today, i think that the transition from the Sandy Huner track to Dos (with mr scruff as a tool) is my favourite and the best i think i have ever done. (2nd is pachanga)

i also noticed i was one beat late in bringing in the bass to she was black. :S

will i enjoy this freak? i dont recongnize a thing, you're more underground than dubfire.

im liking this, not my usual listenings. your flow is very good man; impressive. has this old school feel, but current at the same time. you could even introduce the bass on a tiny portions of your transitions sooner, would just make a slight difference of tighter interest(no biggy though, cuz ur mixes are great). this may sound really stupid, but i feel these tracks should be exclusive to you, you do a good job. how come ur not a big clob dj? what im trying to say is, will you dj for my barmitzvah? i was getting som audio dropouts for the last 2 songs or so so cut it short.

finished listening a minute ago. great set, mixing is clean and the build up is massive, i was really hypnotized during the mix.

Get A Move On! Haven't heard that one in a while... I just downloaded this and I'll be playing it while cooking up a storm for Thanksgiving... once again I'm expecting big things from you.

just listened to this on the way home from work.

jay this is the first set that i've heard from you that i really got down with, and that's not a bad thing- it's just that i can only handle so much techno, at certain times, when i'm in certain moods. you changed it up from your previous mixes, that's probably the biggest reason why i see this one stand out from your previous attempts. the mixing as usual is technically sound. and the opener was fantastic (and mixed very well). you lost me about a quarter of the way in, but the last half really got me grooving on the drive back.

a little anecdote, when i first put the set on, i got a big grin on my face walking out to my car; partly because i was going home, and partly because it was a nice, feel-good track to drive home to. then, as i was just getting back in to milwaukee (the last half of the set) i did the whole head-nod thing the entire way back to my house. lol

i only wish i would've heard more harmonic mixes- obviously with techno, it's rarely an issue, but since this mix was much more vocal-laden and melodic, i felt like it could've made the mix much more refined (so to speak).

Listened to this a couple nights ago. Very well done, you showcased a variety of styles without it feeling crammed into the amount of time used. Though I wasn't feeling every single track (some of the vocals didn't do it for me) there were lots of good tunes to be heard here. I was definitely feeling the section towards the end.

Mixing was tight and impressive as usual. You can really tell you think out your track selection and programming...something I really need to work on. The set flowed well except for a short lull towards the middle, but when it picked back up it kept my attention till the end.

Probably going to download this for my ipod to give another listen on the way home from visiting relatives. Great job.

If by audio drop out you mean less low end, that was intentional to lower the energy a bit and bring it to a close. If not I am curious what you did mean.

I'll play you barmitzvah no problems..only if i can have some deep fried foreskin in my rider.

I have no plans on gigging, i just don't need to do that at this point in my life to get pleasure from playing. I don't really have time to do all the networking and promo involved for this, and i do not think i would enjoy it to be honest. I have a job, that is enough, thanks for your comments.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up. I fully support harmonic mixing, it is just that in a set this short, it would limit me even more in terms of where i could go. I think that the mixing limited clashing and worked well enough. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices i suppose.

Thanks for the review man. I didn't think it out too much, in the sense that i didn't sit there with a pen and a pad thinking, "ok, what tunes do i play and when.". I did limit the amount of tracks that i kept out though, so i would hesitate a little less when choosing.

i had a start point and knew what i wanted to finish with, the rest was improv of sorts.

by dropouts i meant, the audio was cutting in and out. not sure why, it was probably because i was streaming, when saved its totally fine.

Gonna start off by saying I haven't given EDM some attention in awhile, so these tracks being unfamiliar and my craving for some oonst oonst would probably make anything sound great right now.

That being said, this was phenomenal. LOVED the deep/jazzy beginning, and the few mixes after were very well programmed imo. Really kept me intrigued for what was to follow. It made me listen closely, rather than it turning into background music.

I'm liking the variety in the set, kept things moving. This needs to be done more by others. Really bored of the sets with too similar tunes turning the set into one long track. Probably the entire reason I gave EDM a break, just really tired of the overall tech sound right now (who isn't?). Probably my fault for not digging, but anyways...

When you dropped into that "Mr. Giant, Mr. Giant" tune I was fucking sold. From that point on was fist pumping galore at it's finest. Few tunes after I got into this old Lawler kind of mood...no idea why, miss those days from him.

Probably should bite my tongue on this one but this is one of my favorites from you. Full of energy, and jacking the entire time as someone already stated. It worked well. Definitely the most attention I've given to a mix in awhile. Thanks for the refresher.

Wow, wrote a novel, but I'm in the middle of writing an essay so forgive my eagerly typing fingers.

This was great, listened to it several times over the thanksgiving break. I enjoyed the variety quite a bit, a lot of stuff on here I hadn't heard before, so that's always sick. Your mixing, as usual, was superb. Overall, quite the enjoyable mix, naziface.

Wolf + Lamb be with you.

Desperately need a cue for this.
