mayyyyyyybe, but probably not, lol. i really love that little mixer.

i have a djm 300 if you want, lol. needs some fader caps and eq knobs replaced though, there are a couple non-originals on it.

but you really only feel that much difference in sound quality when you play loud on a big sound system. When it comes to playing loud, pioneer 800 sounds like shit, and Xone as nothing on the Rane (or the Urei).

At home I had a little Vestax PMC 25 and loved it. Very affordable (but discontinued)

As for vinyls, I always bring my timecode vinyls with me in all clubs, nobody as them. I would love to go back and play with them again, but clubs turntables are often in very bad condition, they never have needles (if so they are old and crappy). Plus playing turntables in a club environment is more risky, as it can skip a lot more, and skip + software = you are screwed.

next time you are in town we can have "tea" and i can try it.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-24-2009 21:47:

ps tiesto and zabiela use the 800.

/thread

Posted by Ravemontreal on Nov-24-2009 21:49:

I don't do tea, but we can do drugs and play sweaty cowboy music.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-24-2009 21:58:

just listen to the set...there is a track or 2 i put in just for you.

by tea i meant "medical" marijuana, and like i said on facebook...london is awesome try not to fuck my little sister...because of her brother she is at fabric every weekend

Posted by Ravemontreal on Nov-24-2009 22:06:

I will try. I hope she doesn't look too much like you, that would be weird.

Is she going to see Pheek? I think he is playing on Sunday, which sucks cause I work the next day.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-24-2009 22:20:

i told her to go, but she is there as a nanny, so the little bastards come first.

I've been jealous of a few of her emails lately, but that is ok...i'm old and should be concentrating on making little bastards instead of being one.

I was always leaning towards rane, plus I can just use traktor filters...

Now the big problem with rane, is because I do not just wanna leave it in my studio, and I know most of you will be like NO this is a STATIONARY Mixer, but I want a case for it. Something that Will fit the mixer, the EQ part and then can be put down on a table so I could keep the mixer in there easily do all the cableing without having to take it out of the case.

Anyways so the topic of discussion is now RANE MPXP 2016 Cases, setups...

I am also thinking of investing in some loudspeakers.. leaning towards the 12 inch QSC speaker, I heard they sound very good, tested them myself, very good quality for a 12 inch speaker(K12, HPRI122 Series)

Basically I want this for my basement

I have always loved the quality at high price over the mediocre stuff...

Best thread in months hands down.

I have cdjs 800 and they don't work well with Serato.

+1 on having tea with Martin and Jay.. that Vestax mixer seems delicious.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-24-2009 23:33:

come to stereo this friday then

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-24-2009 23:35:

ps zeskg...in your basement monitors will suffice, you don't need a PA.

My basement is like a mini club man, I can post pics... Its totally sound proof, fits about 50 ppl on the dancefloor.

I already filled it last month, and I had to rent a PA, 2 15 inch EV Powered subs and 2 12 inch yorkville speakers.. Subs were amazing, the only thing is I was peaking them like all night... But the tops beatifully matched the subs. One more thing the mirrors on my basement walls, vibrate so hard from the sub kicks, I wish I could take them off lol, but the design is pretty sick by itself..

EDIT: I used to use my KRKRP8s and KRKS10 sub it the sub wasnt enough for the party and the KRKS well I peaked them so much I think I might have damaged one of the tweeters... YEEE I LOVE TO PEAK GEARZ

That taught me not to peak my monitors lol

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-25-2009 00:10:

what are the dimensions of your basement?

if you put too much power in it, it will sound like shit by default. You have to take into consideration the reverb it will give off if it is too small. You should start posting on mtlnights and ask shorty what he thinks...because he would pimp your basement out quicker than lady gaga's penis.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-25-2009 00:10:

fuck you, krk's are awesome

you might have the best club in all of ottawank.

Jay, je vais y penser pour Samedi, mais je ne suis plus un gros fan de house et puis ce que j'ai vu, Stereo = house. Mais au fond, il y a une premire fois tout, n'ayant jamais mis les pieds au Stereo.

Posted by zeKsg on Nov-25-2009 00:22:

20x25 is my basement dancefloor, with extra space maybe 10x10 with couches and sitting area. The only thing is the ceilings are not very high 8 feet i think. Then there is also an entrance to the mini kitchen area designed to be a bar, with a cooler etc.

I had 2 of these babies peaking red like all night, but honestly I loved them. Such a clean and powerful kick no side noises at all.

I had 2 Yorkville tops with them which totally matched it, I spent quite a bit of time selecting the right stuff and the shop testing it, so much of their gear farts, and is terrible.

Posted by Schadenfreude on Nov-25-2009 00:42:

pfffft tu dois juste aimer les dromadiare

house > toute.

Posted by zeKsg on Nov-26-2009 03:05:

this friday is the night to be at stereo...!! cant wait for SIS.

and zeKsg redlining never..never sounds better than having a bit of headroom ..spare the people's ears

Posted by Fruitless on Nov-26-2009 15:56:

The peaking is probably cause your mixer is shit...

Love my RP8G2's, only have a 42 myself but it gives much more headroom than a 32, and the 92 sounds superb and excellent filter(x2)

I like the 92 personally but haven't had my hands on the Rane + EQ's just the Rane itself.

Good luck = )

this is speculation only, as the rumour was started by a new zealand dj shop, but panasonic has made 0 press release. Until that happens we have to assume that these are only rumours.

I just got pair of 1200's and ill never be worried about finding another pair or spare parts. The market is flooded with them so no biggy except for maybe price increases. Just ordered a Denon Dl-110 today, anyone have any experience with that cartridge?
