Thanks for the Eagles nest recommendation, i just got huge points for showing her a new option that got a "oooooh" reaction.... plus I win because she thinks I must have been slaving over the internet to find a place she hadn't come across yet!
It's a definite possibility and now on our top 3 list.

It looked like Eagles nest charges for everything including $700 for the dj to hook up to their sound system... were you able to negotiate much in pricing with them?

-Thanks Lisa for looking into that for us.

Just went through this with my fiance. here are nice options that are not stupid expensive:

1. Atlantis
2. Liberty Grand
3. Arcadian Court
4. Harbour Lighthouse Banquet & Conference (Oakville)
5. a bit more $$, but AGO is sick, was there for one recently

No problem I personally loved it right away

Yes it is kind of pricey BUT go for the food tasting... it was absolutely exquisite... one of the best meals I ever had... plus they pampered us... plus Leanne (the rep there) was accomodating and fast with her responses. No one else came close in actually trying to land us.

In terms of additions. the $700 for the DJ hookup is if djs/band dont bring their own speakers which i understand most do... or if you want to use a laptop or something for music. We got a pretty basic band/dj/sax 5-iece ensemble and they said all good bands bring theur own equipment and speakers and so do most djs. In terms of add-ons we didnt pay or were quoted anything (closest we came to using one was the heli pad but decided against it). Also because it will be a Russian wedding it was the only place of the good ones that allowed us to bring some traditional food. Oh the only thing we paid extra for, is for a waiter whose sole job is to walk around refill peoeple's shot glasses - another bonus

Dont know if you actually physically went and check the place out but I highly recommend! Especially the view!

in terms of pricing... we got it down a bit but not much... really you get what you pay for and form what i saw youll get a lot there... we found it on par or cheaper than most places that have only one wedding at a time... miller lash house was close second.... very beautiful but expensive... once you factor in the caterers that you have to deal with who werent very responsive to our requests for a quote
