*sigh*

I really miss those days...

Sounds like Ed Rush and Optical playing. They killed it that day from what i remember.

+1

I used to traveling to Toronto 2hrs every weekend by train to go to these raves, it was the best thing I could of done at that age. Changed my views on life forever.

I remember going to the iDance Rally, shortly after that I stopped going to the events but the years before that happened were good times

you wouldnt be allowed to. Maybe possibly barely if you put some sort of special politically correct cause behind it and didnt mention house or electronic music. But then there goes the purpose right?

Perhaps we could have a black lesbians for condos march with electronic music (but call it hip hop)... perhaps it might even get a government grant!

as i said the only way anything can happen now is if a politically correct agenda is attached.

It's funny thinking back to how it was, cause those who were into the 'scene' appreciated all types/genres of music. Technoheads, junglists, trancers, Happy Harcorers, Housers to some degree...cause it was a love for all things electronic.

I remember also, that the only ones who were so 'anti (any) genre' were the ginos. I had tons of gino friends and they all used to bug me for listening to all of it, now they're the ones all listening to the stuff they would bug me for 10 yrs ago. I think they brought alot of that mentality into the scene today, where we have so many so called 'clubbers' so ignorant and intolerable towards other stilez/genres of music. That's what divides and weakens the scene as a whole in this city.

So true. The unity the "scene" offered back in the day was IT! Making massives impossible to throw simply segmented the scene into groups. No longer an unified force.

even that isn't close to the same atmosphere, vibe and freedom that the old raves were.

For sure (for both Stylez and your post).

I remember seeing signs "I just wanna dance" (as if it were from Dazed and Confused) lol. I miss those times.
