LOL.....Go Vermi....Take it easy with the beer m8....

And i agree with you on the first thing you said in this thread....

Posted by verminator on Jul-06-2002 08:34:

heh
yesterday was pretty hard hihi

today is techno / dancing only w/o alcohol heh (at least i intend to keep it that way heh)

get on icq m8

i got some new stuff to 'plug' you with

btw burns:
all that 'plz kill him' etc is just something i say for fun heh, maybe to piss of some tiesto fans too heh (just in case someone actually thought i wanted him dead or anything )

anyways, i cant really understand why tiesto now digs up all these old technotrax and plays them in his set..
all the songs from 99,00 and early 01..

gatex, lanicor, point blank speedy j rmx, etc
a bit scary heh..

a theory: tiesto saw how cool all the techno djs are and realized there is no skills in mixing trance compared with mixing techno, so then he suddenly wanted to be just as cool, and good as the technodjs, luckily, he cant, because he 'suck' too much =p cant mix
never had , never will

just a theory

Yo, I think the use of Techno records is absoloutly Brilliant from Tiesto, Tunes like :

Umek
Sharpside
Speedy J
The hacker
Point Blank

These tunes are awesome and i think really swing coming from a trance DJ. I like DJs who spin Uplifting - Techno - Trance, Thats what Tiesto does.

Hey, Umek & Chris Liebling productions are fuckin kool, The names of the tracks are even better though, Ding, Dang, Dong. he he

Oh, I knew you were joking when you said you wanted Tiesto dead, lol

Your not the only one who hasnt heard Hydraulix 13! However FEAR NOT, there is a reason for this. They released Hydraulix 14 before 13 for some reason!

Hydraulix 13 is going to be remixes of Dave The Drummer Revolution! Apparently its scheduled for release in September of this year, so a little longer to wait Im afraid.

Burns>> You should really check out some Umek live sets, they will blow your mind if you haven't already done so. I'd recommend 'Live @ I Love Techno '01', 'Live @ Mayday 2002', 'Ministry of Sound Sessions' and his latest CD 'Torture Chamber 2' - this guy is a God, and my second favourite DJ of all time

Also those two tracks in my signature are by 'recycled loops' - also Umek tracks, and are two of the best funky assed tech tracks ever

wow! thanks for the explanatory info

so hydraulix 9 is going to be remixed, yeh? interesting... this is one the best releases of the label, so its remixes can already be considered killers of the year even though they haven't been released yet...

Posted by Spin Doctor on Jul-06-2002 15:38:

No problem, Im glad to help.

Yep Hydraulix 9 it is, so it should be interesting! I believe there will be remixes from the following: Ant, Glen Wilson and Pounding Grooves, amongst others. This really should be one hell of a monster release. I cant wait!

Posted by verminator on Jul-06-2002 16:06:

oooooHHH

glen wilson / pounding grooves remix!
omfg

heh

will kick ass

Posted by Noisician on Jul-06-2002 16:24:

OMFG!!!

look what i found on http://www.truelove.co.uk/labels/su...lix/catolog.htm

REMIXES TO COME LATER IN 2002 FROM ANT, WOODY MCBRIDE, DJ RUSH, GLEN WILSON, POUNDING GROOVES

dis is gonna be massiv

Posted by Spin Doctor on Jul-06-2002 17:22:

ooh! Nice Find! Though I think massive is probably an understatement! Cant wait for this one.

Posted by Noisician on Jul-06-2002 17:59:

yeah, i know. that release is worth buying just for pounding grooves aka l. immersion remix alone!
as far as i remember, lawrie never remixed henry's production by himself (only as kektex). so it's gonna be interesting for me to hear what that uk tekno masta did to henry's famous dancefloor smasher besides, immersion has always been known for his dirty and i would say filthy style which makes it twice as interesting to hear the remix

...oh well, too bad we'll have to wait for two months till it's released

Whilst Umek is on the topic, What do you guys think of Tiesto Mixing up Gatex ??

I take it this adds to your hatred towards Tiesto right ? he he

Posted by grafal on Jul-06-2002 23:48:

This was one of his earlier tracks. Gatex came after it, but still an awesome banging tune, I love it.

omfg?????????? does tiesto spin this tune???

how many technoaclassics does he intedn to facking ruin befdore he understand what he's doing???????

he so facking gay!
i fakcing hate rhis dj!
omfg
plz kill him
he doesnt know what he's doing

lousy dj skills mixing techno.. omfg

kill this fakking dj

he suxx bigtime

hnot worth the techno tracx hes plaung

that basically shows my attitude towards tiesto as well.

I never liked him for making trance commercial... but what he is doing now is even worse - he's trying to commercialize techno. this is fookin wrong and should never happen. techno is an underground genre by its very nature and making of it a commercial spew will just kill it... dead

Posted by jc on Jul-07-2002 10:24:

Personally, I think Benozal sounds like a better remake of Lanicor

Posted by TranceGiant on Jul-07-2002 12:48:

Behold, my arse.

i saw him yesterday @ loveparade vienna

He + Dj rush + Tom Novy + La di da (czech supermodel and great dj-ane?) = PURE FUCKING MADNESS shared with 400.000 happy crazy E'd up ppl

Yeah dude, I just grabbed Live @ Mayday. Its a beast of a set, Umek ends things with Benozal wich goes down a treat, Amazing stuff man.

Hey does this guy have a CD out, A mixed CD ?

Posted by Noisician on Jul-07-2002 19:41:

yes,

check out his Umek on MOnoid CD (it has 26 techno classix mixed)

theres also Torture Chamber 2 mixed by Umek... but i don't have it and can't say anything about it. but it must be good too 'caz it's by U M E K, ya know

Posted by burns on Jul-07-2002 20:24:

Now lets make this the Umek thread. Which track stands out above the rest in your opinions every-one ?
Well theres the that Bomb called Gatex, The best named Benozal and the disaster of a track called Lanicor. Theres also alot of underground junk wich is also amazing, Which one stands out would you lot say ?

By the way i must confess, I am using UMEK to take a brake from trance for a bit, I am filling me head full of trance about 10 hours a day and i need a short brake, So Techno and real soft uplifting melodic trance are on the genre at the moment (Theres a massive differance between uplifting trance and techno, yes im aware, but its all gud gud, he he)

Well ive always been a fan of techno and uplifting trance been i am paying more attention to them lately.

Torture Camber 2 is a wicked CD, it's on a british record label too, so you'll be able to pick it up in HMV no problems

I like his remixes a lot. I would recommend:

Depeche Mode - I Feel Loved (Umek RMX)
Cristian Varela - Pains (Umek RMX) <--- IMHO, his best remix so far
Speedy J - Krick (Umek RMX)
Ian Void - Hunger (Umek RMX)
Asem Shama - Conception (Umek RMX)
Ben Long - Potential (Umek RMX)

those are my favorite
