Funny story about him, My mate met him in DC10 in Ibiza once, he was in there with no shoes on. My mate asked him what his next big adventure was, his reply. "to get out of this place"..

The show he done called "cannibals & crampons" is a great watch as well, climbed one of the most remote mountains in the world, had to trek for weeks thru known cannibal territory in guinea just to get to the mountain. By the time they got to the foot of the mountain him and his mate were an absolute shell of their former selves, lost so much weight, bodies in a total mess - but they still climbed it.

I reckon you can see his personality changing throughout the series as people make him take more and more drugs. He seems to become more of a tripper towards the later episodes from all the mind altering stuff he's smoked.

I do love Ray Mears, but his enthusiasm for short shorts makes his shows hard to watch.

I can't stand that Man vs Wild show, it just looks too scripted and watching Bear makes me think he's just a very annoying 10 year old that never grew up.
'lolol lets climb trees and eat gross stuff on camera!'

I watch him because he's good at what he does...whatever it is..whether its acting, surviving, or running around like Indiana Jones, I LOVE HIM AND HIS SHOW!!!!! HANDS DOWN!

Ok, it's for entertainment purposes, fine, but there are some damn things on that show that I'd like to see some of you haters do.

Yes, we know he has a crew behind him..and he also has equipment to back him up..including a random night in a hotel LOL...but the guy does it just to show examples of what you can do in a situation such as the ones he puts himself in...yes we know that.

unlike this douche Survivorman Stroud who bores a fire to death & claims he records EVERYTHING himself, which is a load of rubbish! Do you know how much work that is?? Climbing a mountain and takin a shot as he walks down..then what? He climbs back up to grab the camera again? Rightttttt... And some of the things u see on his show you also see on Bear Gryll's show..except of course Bear is more entertaining, hotlol, and has an awesome camera guy behind him that takes some awesome shots making the show a real enjoyment.
Not too mention the fact that he is a humbling dude in general..always mentioning his family along his journeys awwwwww
follow him on twitter :P http://twitter.com/BearGrylls
so what if he wants to eat gross things and climb trees. Its part of the concept

I'm sorry but Bear's a joke. The entire premis of his show is to show people what it takes to survive a given situation; however, half the time he wouldn't have survivied if not for having a safety crew. Truthfully, trying to do the shit Bear recommends is more likely to get you dead then rescued.

One of my mates little daughters summed it up: "but why?"

No Stevie.
