The cops aren't supposed to get out of line...

They are employed...BY ME... to keep everyone in line...

Exactly. People are basically assuming that cops busted in and started pulling out people's pockets. It's entirely possible that everybody who was arrested either (a) was visibly sketchy/tweaked, or (b) fell for some stupid cop trick and effectively abdicated their rights.

Think about it - only 15 arrests? There would have been way more than that carrying something. Most were probably quick enough on the draw to avoid search.

he will let you toss them but then will still charge you with possession when you pull it out of your pocket. they stated nothing about not charging you if you did have something.

It seems that the police are profiling clubs that that have a certain capacity. Most of the raids over the past two years have been predicted in previous raid threads. Anyone wanna guess who's next?

I guess there really is safety in numbers.

i was thinking the same thing. smaller venues are easier for them to handle/control.

FW and basement is my guess for 2010. Maybe even XS sundays...

Guv should be a safe bet. They would need an army to raid that place.

its amazing how people take freedoms for granted and are willing to say "oh well" when they are taken away.

+1... all of these guys defending the police are lucky they never had to deal with "out of line" behaviour. disgusting serpico style stories go on all the time... guess that means it's always been this way but doesn't mean we should sit on our thumb and accept it.

and on a side note, although they find drugs without fail on these after hours raids, you'd think if they were really that dangerous places they'd report finding some guns as well.

Why do people get so upset when shit like this happens...it comes with the territory..i've been in several after hours that were "raided" ....I was never searched but I'm sure some people were.

I've never considered it to be my God given right to party peacefully at an after hours where there is rampant drug use. Unfortunately, some of the more seedier people in society hang out at these places and where there is crime or the potential for it..there will be some sort of periodical law enforcement. Things will be back to normal at Film next weekend..
