OMG i just read this thread! WOW! she was so young, and from all things to die from, a heart attack? sucks... and definitely too bad.

Right before Christmas, I feel sorry for her family and friends, that's really really sad. May she rest in peace.

+1. She did a great job. In fact, she's been in a bunch of great movies. RIP

so I *heard* that the husband is putting up a fight against her getting an autopsy......if this is in fact, true, that sounds extremely suspicious!

That's what I read as well... Why would you put up a fight about that unless there was something to hide.

Either way....
RIP Brittany

didn't her husband have an attack on a plane just last month?

Who?

Posted by 1dawoman on Dec-21-2009 02:50:

So sad to hear about this. I really liked a bunch of movies she was in. Although the involvement of drugs are a probablility in my opinion, the girl did have diabetes and a history of anorexia so who knows what exactly happened.

Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia: coroner

Actor Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia, a Los Angeles County coroner revealed on Thursday, but prescription drugs also played a role in her death.

Spokesman Craig Harvey said Murphy, who died Dec. 20 at age 32, also had anemia, and multiple prescription drugs in her system.

But those were secondary factors in the young starlet's death, he said. Pneumonia was the primary cause.

Harvey would not say which drugs were involved, but said all traces found were prescription medications.

Murphy, star of Eight Mile and the voice of Luanne on the animated series King of the Hill, collapsed in her Hollywood Hills home after complaining of flu-like symptoms.

She was found by her mother, who moved to California to support her in her acting career. Murphy was married to British screenwriter Simon Monjack, who made the 911 call for help.

Both her mother and her husband have said she did not abuse drugs. In an interview after her death, Monjack said Murphy took prescription medication for seizures and had been taking the over-the-counter drug Robitussin for her flu symptoms.

She also had roles in movies including Clueless, Girl, Interrupted and Don't Say a Word, and episodes of now-defunct TV series Frasier.

from another report;

The cause of death for Murphy, 32, who died Dec. 20, was determined to be "community acquired pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication." The manner of death was labeled "accident."

i am willing to bet that 3/4 of the people on this forum dont even know what Pneumonia is...

"Pneumonia is an abnormal inflammatory condition of the lung. It is often characterized as including inflammation of the parenchyma of the lung (that is, the alveoli) and abnormal alveolar filling with fluid (consolidation and exudation).

The alveoli are microscopic air-filled sacs in the lungs responsible for absorbing oxygen. Pneumonia can result from a variety of causes, including infection with bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites, and chemical or physical injury to the lungs. Its cause may also be officially described as idiopathicthat is, unknownwhen infectious causes have been excluded."

which means it is just like TB, its not treatable but there is medication or if you wanna call them "drugs" available to prevent it from doing damage... sooner or later it will catch up with you.
