You know what would be sick, a bluray disc with imagery from the movie in a 2 hours loop or something that you have playing on your tv. That would sell.

I love how people bring this movie down because they believe the plot is somewhat unoriginal ?
Like wtf do you want ? f-ing smartasses.
The main attraction of the movie is the visuals...and the story fits well with the visuals. And its a movie for everyone.
All story lines are the same or predictable because there is only so much you can do...or I dunno maybe they should have whipped out the whole planet so the little kids can sleep better at night.
I've seen it twice now and I think its amazing. And the fact that this might turn into a trilogy is even better news.
F U haters lol
Hey relax man, it's Christmas
, you're the only one that sounds like a hater now.
Have you ever heard of a movie that doesn't get criticized?

Whoever thinks the movie has a bad story is just jumping on the bandwagon. A few critics decided to say that and now everyone else is saying it to fit in but they have no idea why! The movie is incredible and has one of the best stories of the year.
I'm not going to try to convince you that you didn't like the movie.

Yessir, gotta admit though, when Jake is grabbin for the mask at the end, and the chick avatar comes to save him, when she's holding him, looked kinda weird lol.

im not to sure why everyone is hating on the story line
what else were you expecting? this movie is visuals 1st, story 2nd. The story was a little on the cheese side and predictable but who cares really. It wasnt as bad as transformers 2 storyline!
Is it really possible in this day and age to do a movie with a message or a moral that doesn't come across as cheesy or corny ? Look at the Disney movies...
The thing is that if the story wasn't simple: 1) there's quite a few people (and I won't point fingers) that wouldn't a understand a thing and 2) you would have felt and complained about the length of the movie. As it is, you come out of there feeling like you just walked in.

Its definately stupid to compare this movie to Star Wars. Avatar is nothing compared to Star Wars when it comes to storyline and creativity. Avatar is definately better than 50% of the movies this year.

There's nothing epic in Avatar...
We ended up walking out halfway through. I never do that, it speaks volumes about how bad this is. I see it as a kids movie for adults that still wish they were kids.
I didn't like it at all neither.
Working in the VFX field, I do have respect and appreciate the massive amount of work it must have taken to accomplish this. As well as the steps forward in animation, and some moments where so much money was thrown at me that my jaw dropped.
But I didn't like the story, I didn't like the colors that made my eyes bleed, and I really didn't like the character's design, especially the creatures in the jungle. I was just in disbelief.
But most of all, I didn't feel nothing.
I saw 'Where the wild things are' one week prior to Avatar, also a kid's movie. And I prefered by far the visual fx and design, as well as the story,
But I am not a kid. I am sure that a 13 year old would prefer Avatar.
See?
I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that way. The only reason we went to see it, was because a good friend would not shut up about it, and he generally has been pretty good with making movie suggestions in the past.
When I told him we walked out on it, he accused us of not going in with an "open mind". I told him that this movie had nothing to require you to bring a mind for. No thinking needed at all. They took a story that has been done a million times before, and managed to make it more predictable than I thought humanly possible.
No substance in this whatsoever. I know by now that I can not expect Hollywood to reinvent the wheel at all anymore, because if I did, I would hardly ever be able to watch an American movie if i went into everything with huge expectations. It amazes me at what Hollywood has become. Mindless remakes and maybe one or 2 original screenplays without holes in the plot big enough to drive a big rig through out of Tinseltown per annum.
Et tu Brute.

I want to see Nine
AVATAR 3D IS AMAZING
worth 10x more my $ than A Serious Man from the Coen brothers
if i am going to spend money on a "dumb" movie, i would rather see this.:P
fukkkkkkkkkkkkk not another zombie variant shit movie lol god damn it, how many of them can they make???
It is not really a zombie movie, even if it is pretty much the same thing. I like George A Romero quite a bit, so I always get a little excited when they do a remake even if only one remake of the original movies has been done well.
The original for this is amazing.
