I cannot grab the album from iTunes. Does anyone know an alternative Downloadstore?

^I think it would be absolutely asinine if Beatport or the like didn't get it.

I wish there was a more firm date for this sucker.

I'm trying to get hold of the label for a promo copy to review, but having no luck so far.

Shit, I hadn't even heard about this before now.

Have any of you guys had a listen yet? What's it like?

Posted by Branah on Feb-13-2010 03:36:

this sounds awesome!

It's here: https://www.beatport.com/en-US/html...0A%20New%20Life

Delicious ambient/downtempo.

Sounds really awesome out from the samples.

Took me a bit by surprise, but I actually like it, judging from the samples. Reminded me a little bit, oddly, of Entroducing...

Does anyone have any experience buying CD-R's from Amazon?

Do they come with album art, a case, etc?

I'd like to have a physical copy (Christ, I'm turning into Mr. Mystery..), but don't just want a cheap CD-R that I could make myself after downloading it.

Eff that, go with Juno (linked at the top of the page)...comes out to just over $13 with free shipping!

Never heard of the guy, but I like what I hear!

You young whippersnapper, you! Here's a condensed discog history: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Slacker (having officially appeared on the scene as far back as 1993 under the Ramp alias).

good stuff. I like the clubby stuff better (Corazon....wow), but it's definitely a quality artist album.

hopefully we'll see some sick remixes

Hymn To Her and a Million Dreams are old tracks, but glad to see them on the album. Hymn is gorgeous

Actually, I think the original is on Beatport. Not entirely sure, but it sounds like it to me.

My CD finally arrived...quite the journey of an album with mostly downtempo but not entirely ambient with some beat-laden tracks as well. This and the Hybrid albums are the best of artist albums Q1 2010 contenders.

Jack, did you ever end up giving this a review?

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on May-24-2010 18:06:

Not really feeling these.

Posted by Frenkieee on May-24-2010 18:20:

I think it's awesome, only one or two I'm not feeling, the others are very very good.

No, and I don't plan to anymore. Sounds like very bland MOR trip-hop from the samples.

Posted by vinnie97 on May-25-2010 05:52:

I bought it in anticipation of a Slacker album finally arriving...I haven't listened to it since purchase unfortunately (a result of my attention waning somewhat and being busy) but I intend to come back to it. It's not all trip hop, as there are some additional influences on tap as well.
