All have good deals at a variety of stores. I'd really like to get some sort of gaming system, but still not sure what to go with

They do? The best deal I've seen was like $20 off, lol.

Boxing day sales are complete shit, at least for electronics. Maybe they're decent for clothes, I don't know because I haven't tried that, but for almost everything else it's better to wait until mid-January or even February when all the stores are trying to clear out last year's inventory.

remember to look your stuff up online first ppl, i've been able to get most of the $hit I've wanted this year for a lot less than what I found in stores. A lot of retailers are also shipping free during the Boxing Day weekend.

www.wishabi.ca

it's crazy how much stuff is marked up here in Canada when compared to the US.. even after taxes/duties, sometimes you're still saving tons on a lot of manufactured goods and clothing

fuck I hate that shit, even if you want to buy something at regular price you can't because of the hordes of people running after 7% rebates.

Posted by VERTiG0 on Dec-26-2009 19:58:

This year's boxing day sales are very disappointing, except for the 40" Sharp LCD at Futureshop that I didn't get because I'm a retard and forgot to bring my wallet to the party I was at.

Boxing Day was a success, ALL LUCK!

GF got a Canon SD780is for $199, a friend hers works @ FS and found one that was on hold ... no holds on Boxing Day. Bestbuy only had 15 units of these per store and we got it @ 1:30pm.

Got a Seagate 1.5TB HD for $99.99

Parking spots were all super easy also

pure luck ...

I can't remember the last time I spent over a grand on electronics in one shot...maybe when I bought my macbook in mid-2007? Either way, I'm pretty stoked. I got the Samsung 40" LCD HDTV, plus the samsung home theatre package with a DVD player and five speaker dolby surround sound system. Anyone who has been to my house knows how bad my television set up is.

For some reason, I am hesitating over the $30 sports tank from Lululemon (with free shipping nonetheless)...go figure.

I'd definatly go with the Toshiba..

^^^^^^

I agree. Well for me it was between the Sony and Toshiba (the same ones you were looking at Yohan), until I found this one...

It was already sold out online since Christmas day, and took a chance and went there in person on Boxing Day and managed to get one. So happy with this purchase.

I'm a little more hesitant to buy clothes (since I went over my boxing day shopping budget), but I figured I should treat myself for going through the stress in getting the laptop!

Too late for this but I wouldn't bother with DVD anymore. It's on the way out. Good buy nevertheless. The Dolby Digital surround sound system will blow your socks off once you get it all set up. Beats going to the theatre imo.

Posted by DigiNut on Dec-28-2009 21:53:

People actually still buy Acer and Gateway machines? Lol, I'm remembering Dan's rant now, "You no want good, want cheap! You bai Acer because it cheap! It very cheap!"

Posted by kaniz on Dec-29-2009 16:56:

Didn't go out on Boxing Day, but did do some shopping yesterday.

Mostly I got a bunch of T's and hoodies from Urban Outfitters for about 5 bucks each. I was in need of 'comfy t-shirts', and they had some neat ones for really cheap. I like some of their stuff, but cant justify the normal $58 price tag - but 5 bucks? why not.

Also got a Native Instruments Maschine with no-tax, yay! pick it up tomorrow.
