People saying they would "change this" or "stop this" are forgetting about one stipulation...

Ah, there's no fun in that then.

Posted by Lira on Dec-30-2009 03:24:

Screw the No "Butterfly Effect" rule: If I were to go back in time, I'd choose to do something that could make a difference in the future (i.e. if I can't change the past, I'd see what it was like and help prevent future occurrences). Either that or I'd talk to someone who I think could make a difference nowadays, and ask their opinion on the current events.

But I sure as hell wouldn't party. Life is no festival.

that's EXACTLY what i was asking myself..

Well, the same could be said about a gig that was played 25 years ago, and out on DVD..

It's in the details, I know how the game ended.. But I'd lie if I said I knew everything that happened.

yes yes that is a good way to explain lsd & psychedelic trips yes yes

anyway yea, i'd hop into the wings of time & time travel back to 65,000,000 b.c prehistory, or maybe 12,000 b.c. antiquity, possibly even 600 a.d. middle ages orrrrr 2300 ad. future ... orrr the end of time

July 20th, 1969, to watch, along with millions across the globe, man setting foot on the moon. And then watching the earth from the moon's perspective. Wow... It must have been a truly unifying experience. I can't help but think that that event made any problem that any viewer had at that moment seem insignificant.

Posted by Lews on Dec-30-2009 09:40:

Definitely landing on the moon for me as well.

Well after meeting my in-laws family and seeing how nice german people are compared to the brits.........

Nah, I couldn't do that, damn butterfly effect.

stuck between

world cup final 1966.

Interrupting the first date between John & Yoko (Why for that matter are women with Y and K in their 'names' so crazy, I mean krypton used to just be the nerd who liked glowsticks)

1. I'd go back 65,000,000+ years ago when dinosaurs were still around, find someplace safe and watch in amazement and horror.

2. I'd go back to ancient Egypt and watch the pyramids being built / finally find out how they got them up in the first place.

3. I'd go back to right around the time when Earth's atmosphere was just formed and observe things before the planet was altered by animal life.

#2 on the list: go back to a place and point in time where the most naked beautiful women were present at one time.

I'd like to witness the burning bush that spoke to Moses to confirm my suspicion that it was marijuana.

But I'd rather go to the future, I would want to go far enough ahead to see how far we'd gone in the realm of space.. Life would still hopefully make a little bit of sense to someone from our era, but how fun to see all the new technology. And hopefully, women and minorities will have more legal and cultural rights than they enjoy today.

you can only travel in time, not in fairy tales.
