add-ons make firefox better than all

so i installed chrome last night.. seems like quite a nice tidy browser. it does appear to be a bit faster than im used to [apart from TA being slow as shit from time to time].

a couple of things that are pissing me off with it though. the spelling underline thing telling me ive spelled things wrong, is there anyways to get rid of that?.

also. i miss not having the little drop down arrowy thing you click and it drops down a menu of your most visited websites. where as on chrome i have to start typing it in on the adress bar.. granted it finishes the adress off for me to my most visited page, but if im idley browsing around looking at junk i like to be able to keep my hand on my mouse, and rest my head on the other hand, i can no longer do this.. well i can, but everyonce in a while i have to lift my head up and type, which is quite annoying

Don't take my word for it, but I heard from a friend of a friend that spelling things right seems to work like a charm.

Right-click an underlined word -> Language settings -> Uncheck that evil option right under the language box

however, i've stayed with firefox bc it works best for me, i do love the extensions and to be honest, i don't particularly like how chrome lays out your websites, i prefer having the buttons i use the most- i use wikipedia a lot & i have the little search at the top which is ideal.

see, i like my buttons & wiki search at the top & i prefer having a dark screen, it bothers my eyes less.

Go to any site that has a search bar (Wikipedia, Discogs, IMDb etc.) and right click on it and then on "add a keyword for this search". This way when I want to search for something on Discogs, I just press F6 (to put the cursor in the address bar) and type "dg Massive Attack" or if I want to do it on Wikipedia I type "wiki Massive Attack". That leaves me with Google search when I go to the little customizable search bar in upper right corner (accessible by pressing ctrl+E). Also, I have dictionary set as homepage (alt+home).

Yes, we all get it. You're very upset because a guy on the internet asked you if you were a homosexual and had a boyfriend in a thread that discussed strip clubs and on which you voiced your disdain towards them. Time to spend your time and energy on something else. We wouldn't want Mr. Dreamy to trip and land on someone else's cock, do we? Or is he the one on pitching duties?

I use nothing but google chrome. The only thing they need to add is a way to save tabs you have open so you can bring them back up later.

That's already possible since the beta version.

are there any plugins like foxytunes ?

The new Chrome doesn't allow you to Google search from the address bar. WTF? I was used to that.

That blows.

Posted by [N]k|[Z] on Aug-30-2010 18:28:

i dont think i got that update yet.. still seems fine on my end.
the only thing that does my head in about chrome is the fact that theres no drop down button for the adress bar, so you can single hand browse. you have to type the first few letters of the webadress, then it will bring up past visited sites

Also, I've been using the Mac version on my laptop and the Windows version on my office computer and I have to say that the Windows version is truly beyond excremental. On the other hand, the Mac version is fantastic.

I prefer the stripped down version of Chrome, SRware Iron, for some strange reason it's much more stable than chrome for me.
