Corona is to Mexico/Australia, what Fosters is to Australia/UK.

ie it's shit. I mean I can stomach it if I have to (unlike VB) but it's still rubbish.

you are fuckin snobbsssss without a doubt.

I'm HUGE into craft beer, and have been for a while, but would never say "if you need to add something to a beer...". All it does is make you seem like a snob. At the end of the day, it's what you enjoy. Personally, I dislike corona. Period. With or without a lime. But sitting at a beach bar with some friends, a corona with lime isn't exactly terrible. And you know what? The beer sells. Whether it's due to taste, marketing, or any number of factors, the beer sells. It's not my choice but if you like it then good. Drink beer, be merry.

One of my favorite styles of beer is the Hefeweizen (Weihenstephaner makes one of my top 5 favorite beers, no doubt) and I don't prefer to have lemon in the beer, as many do. Often times, at bars, I have to ask the bartender to not add lemon to my beer. That's ok. From beeradvocate : "The majority of Hefeweizen drinkers embrace this presentation, as there is something about the puckering tartness of a fresh cut lemon slice in a German Hefeweizen or American Wheat that sooths that summer heat away." It's personal preference---similar to how some enjoy their whiskey neat, others enjoy it with ice, and others still enjoy it with soda.

So basically stop being such a fuckin snob. There's a huge difference between 'beer snob' and 'beer geek'. Tell me what your favorite beer is and if I wanted to I could probably make you feel ridiculous too. Perhaps my musing w/r/t cocktails were incorrect, I was merely curious as the 3 cocktail books I have laying around my house all include recipes for the simple drinks which I mentioned. That's all. Don't be beer snobs. If you like good beer, then go ahead and get other people involved, introduce it to friends. Don't look down on anyone it doesn't get you anywhere.

Just because they are in a cocktail book doesn't make them cocktails. Trust me, I've seen hundreds of cocktail books. You know what they all have in common?
They have sections in them called "mixers". That's what jack and coke, vodka and juice, and the rest are. They are mixers, not cocktails.

i was in cuba for new years and i discovered the only way to remain a man while enjoying a mamossa (champagne and oj).... the key is your mug that you are drinking out of must be capable of holding a whole bottle of champagne and half a jug of oj...... i was still amazed that they actually filled it all the way up.... apparently smart serve isnt required in varadero

fav cocktail is Mojito or whatever is the bar's specialty.

0.75/5 Vermouth
2/5 Perrier or whatever.

I usually toss in a splash of Absinthe so that's the other 0.25/5.

my favorite has to be long island iced tea. i usually have 2 of those and settle with couple of beers for rest of the night

also ones i like:

mojito
margarita (no salt) frozen or not doesnt matter
dirty kettel1 martini with olives
green tea and JW black

Mojitos are definitely my favorite cocktail, great in the summer. I had a Sidecar once, it's supposedly a San Francisco drink...I think it's just some kind of orange martini with brown sugar on the rim. Other than that I stick to jack & cokes or beer.

To be fair I can't stand beer snobs. I work in a real ale pub and the people from CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) who come in are worse than wine snobs. Pretentious arrogant wankers. People like different stuff. This is all. Having said that though, there's no need for stella, kronenburg or carling. Filthy stuff.

And that's how I feel about Corona

I don't mind Stella though it does have a strange metallic and bitter sort of after taste which is what puts people of it. The Belgian brewed version is far better than the Australian brewed version though as it's sweeter.
