where were u all night?

I was having so much fun i really didn't realize how rammed it was till i saw pics, the crowd was incredible.. singing screaming one of the most responsive crowds i've heard in a while and that made the night even better.

Avicii was pretty good at the start he came out nice then middle he started to die out, he became a bit repetitive for me towards the end but I enjoyed his set.

Angello brought so much energy! the crowd erupted when he came on, he did throw in some cheesy tracks but he made them sound amazing, I'm not sure if many people can do that and get away with it. Angellos delay and looping was insane.. i've seen him and heard him do that stuff all the time but on cdj's it's always good to hear. He did lack flow a little but it was mainly when the cheese tracks came on but when he got out of it he went in to a nice flowing set.

He kept the red light on him the whole night then signaled to the light guys to cut them... the lights were off him and he got darker, Some nice hard Techno!!

The little speeches he was giving at various times were great, "TORONTOOOO!!! What the fuck was that? One of the best gigs he's had in a long time"

he also said something like " I Love Toronto, I Love Canada, I Love The Guvernment, I love each and every single one of you, If all of you were girls... I'd fuck you"

Amazing night.. Steve Angello i have thought highly about him dj and producing and he defiantly exceeded expectations, hopefully next time for a main event SHM or Ingrosso & Angello.

Special mention : Strong at the start had a great set, Manzone came in later and was sick.. they have always been great but since Manzone got back from mexico i've been saying wow

Great energy from Angello, nice set. Lots of styles in there too, including a bit of tech trance near the end that worked well in that set.

Thanks again, Chinamon, see u at the wedding

yeah, there was a brawl going on when we left... we saw a bunch of bouncers run to the middle of the dance floor... i guess it quickly dissipated.

Blame it on the Jersey Shore.

Overall last night did not top the night last year when him and Ingrosso went back to back till close. A little too much commercial cheese (and this is coming from a fan of well used commercial cheese) for my liking. Good mixing but the set just seemed to lack a sense of flow. I almost got the feeling that Steve didn't come into this gig with high expectations (maybe he was tired or whatever) but I think that amazing crowd response to everything he did sorta got him into a good groove. So long story short....not the best i've heard from him...but still damned fucking good!

Couldn't agree more. I enjoyed his set at Decadence last year better than Saturday as well, but the sheer madness in Guv was unreal! Non-stop big room party tunes FTW! If you are ever looking for a high energy party, Steve Angello is not to be missed.

I was disappointed to see that Steve wasn't closing, but Mark Oliver really made up for it. Mark is usually hit and miss for me, but he kept the same energy going right through till the end. One of the better Guv nights I have ever had.

And now the bad...Gallery was awful on Saturday. I don't like the renovations they made as it is far too bright and a little to much anime on the walls for my liking. Dark and dirty > modern and trendy. Gallery quickly went to being my favourite room to the worst. The electro didn't help anything either.

Personally Amicci didn't do much for me.

He was an opener which I know is not an easy task, but still, be it the volume levels being out of whack(don't know if it was on his mixer or guv's master mixer) or some of the rallying, big room build ups that equated to mediocre drops, I just could not get into it...nor could alot of the people around me..was even getting text's sharing similar thoughts.

Does anyone know if he played Gypsy?

Posted by Sasha on Jan-25-2010 20:05:

there was only on dj playing electro at the gallery on Saturday.. geez

I do agree about too much lights in there though, it was fixed later
