-- Who wants an iPad?

Also on the eBook readers- since when has carrying around a book ever been a problem?
They market the Kindle, the Nook, and now the iPad as the solution to carrying around all these books. Who reads more than one book at a time? Why do I need a device to hold 1,000 books especially after I read them and won't touch them again?
Not to mention when you do a price comparison, buying books the old-fashioned way wins every time.
You could buy 17 books at $15 each...more than a year of reading, for the same price as buying a Kindle with jack shit on it.
The eBook reader market will always be a niche market until they can figure out how to price the books and devices cheaper.

the only thing that would actually get hurt in market share with this is the amazon kindle thats about it. the prices with 3g and better HDD are kinda steep for a tablet. for $600 u can get a dual core laptop with all functions or adding $100 to the 32gb wiht wifi u can get a macbook.

I'd drop that ****** in about 5mins. I mean physically, it has nothing to hold onto.
Maybe rename it the iDrop, brings tears to your eyes.

The only good thing that has come out of this today is AT&T will have a $15/250mb a month data plan available.
Maybe that will get other carriers to drop their ripoff smartphone data prices. Verizon offers only 25mb for $10 a month. This new plan from AT&T makes Verizon's offerings look like shit.
So maybe then the subscription rates for smartphones will drop across the board. And then more people can buy them.

Couldn't be arsed to read all that as every 15 seconds the page would jump to the top again, quite annoying.
whats the market for that thing?
if i have a 13in laptop with an extended batter and a BB9700, why would i buy that?
ANOTHER device for music, videos, photos and email?
oh it has a book store!
If i am at home and wanted to read off a lighted display and kill my eyes i would just use my laptop
If i am on the go, lets say a 1.5 hours commute i can read on the ipod touch OR the laptop.
so?

The fuckin thing can't even multitask. It's more gimped than a netbook, at atrocious prices.

| Originally posted by get nyce this is a very valid point argued by many but it doesn't fit the tech model that has made Apple famous. the MB and MBPro lines do a good job at this as a full scale laptop. Only there would I be needing to multitask though. Portable is defined as on the go, revolutionized by Apple with their iProducts right? That in itself is probably the main reason why they've dumbed down their UI and logic, with the intent that you're taking your ipod on the go. I think larger talking points are the no webcam on the front for video conferencing but we all know that 3G/4G or any carrier won't go for simply because they do not have the bandwidth to support it. Who does video conferencing good? Cisco, but they aren't OTA. |
