I still can't decide what to do ....... Microsoft dropped the ban hammer on my console just before modern warfare 2 came out, so I was conteplating getting the ps3 for exclusives and online games but the only game that has cought my interest is the uncharted franchise ... Option 2 was buy a second 360 just for online games and keep my modded one for one player games I just don't know what to do

Sqaure started only caring for graphics and cut scene. It's all about gameplay and storyline, just like FF3

according to some early reviews I have read of the JP release...

- a fast-paced gorgeous-looking beautiful-sounding blitzthrough, after which there will be almost no reason to ever play it again

- 1/3 or so of the game = absolute linear path to the point of jumping from dungeon-to-dungeon in places

- 3 cheers for another boardgame-esque character growth system (FFX sphere grid in 3d, minus ability to customize to the extent of sphere grid)

I hope it can live to the hype, cuz honestly there have been no FF that I can considered as a classic since FF7. We need RPG's like the Xeno series. I remember the days I skipped school.

Posted by VolumE_TO on Jan-28-2010 05:19:

FF7 obviously can not be topped... I know it's old news and wouldn't happen a remake would be nice.

yeah xenogears was pretty sexy :P

do both. keep your banbox for the 360 exclusives, and get a ps3 for the free online and sony exclusives.

there are so many good exclusive games coming/ already out for ps3

oh and if you guys are looking for a good old school rpg/ action adventure game that is deadly hard, check out demon souls. I have this bad boy, havent opened it yet, but cant wait to start.

IMO, FF7 was totally epic Ive played through it multiple times levling my characters to the high 90's, wasent a big fan of 8 i just played through it once and very sporaticaly, I was a huge fan FF 9 loved the characters in that game and it truly felt like a fantasy game with setting and the story (knights and wizards and whatnot), FFX was okay once and done, never played X-2 or FFXI, me and my buddy got FFXII the day it came out and played it through right away I thought it was good a little easy IMO but one of the definatly better then X, I would really like to see another title along the lines of 9 knights wizards etc I think maybe they wanna stay from WOW style

yeah I thought about that, honestly one thing bugs me about the ps3 and I know some ppl are gonna disagree but I'm a big guy and I don't like the feel of the ps3 controller, I was the biggest fan of ps1 when it came out it had the best controller in that day but it's competition was N64 and then dreamcast and I was also a teenager. If I could use my 360 controller with the ps3 I would get it handsdown

hmmm I have nothing to do today, all this final fantasy talk makes me wanna bust out one of the old games

Love this game, bought the chinese version about 9 months ago, which had full english support but ended up I would play on asian servers. I hate playing with asians tho...I keep getting a beat-down harder then a Jackson five kid.

Bioware is still going eh? Mass Effect 2 is good? Last thing I even played Rpg wise was Baldur's Gate 2 and halfway through files got corrupted lost everything. Grrrr.

Kris where you been man? Bioware still making excellent RPGS since the Baulder days (long live Baulder's Gate series), check out Dragon Age:Origins (came out a few months ago) or Mass Effect 2 (came out 2 days ago).

Also, PS3 RPG exclusive, White Knight Chronicles is coming out February 2nd to North America. It has an interesting multiplayer experience to go along with their single player story. Me and a bunch of buddies gonna check it out.

lol yes!! what rock have you been sleeping under? Mass Effect 1 was one of the best RPG's I've ever played (Fallout 3 gets my first vote). I'm too busy nowadays to play Mass Effect 2 but the moment I have some free time I'm getting on it. Got my save files from the first one ready to go.

Your sci-fi geek title will be revoked unless you get started on ME1 immediately

oh shit, Pete is sci-fi RPGer! Mass Effect 2 reminds me of Knights of the Old Republic but much more beautiful and with faster paced shooting gameplay...wish I had a good PC to run it instead of xbox. I never actually played the first one, but always heard good things, now I see what ive been missing out on.

Gameplay is good, but a bit dissapointing-ish. So I'm gonna skip this FF also.

Im not holding my breath for FF13 to be an amazing game. The series has been seriously watered down since FF9. Linear gameplay, healing at save points, and now SHOPS at save points? Wheres the adventure? Or the challenging story gameplay (not that Final Fantasy has ever been particularly difficult, but after 9, its been a BREEZE to make it through the main plot in FF games). Even so, Id be able to forgive all the flaws if theyd just give me a world to explore (Dragon Quest 8 comes to mind as a perfect example of what Im expecting from the environment).

Ill replay FF4, 6, 9, and 7 a thousand times before I ever spend my money on another Final Fantasy title.

Also, agreed 100%. PS3 is a great console, with the shittiest controller of this generation. The Dual Shock is an obsolete design.

I'd consider checking it out for kicks like I said.

I have to check out some Bioware stuff...from what I've played (not much) but I haven't been disappointed.

I want someone to come out with a "Rifts" based game or Rpg, that would just be awesome (but it won't happen).

Do it. ME2 was expertly done, and they actually listened to their fans and tweaked out some of the (minor) annoyances from ME1.

Hell, just look at the people they get to do the voice acting for these - Martin Sheen, Carrie-Ann Moss, Seth Green - they put some serious teeth into this series, except that unlike the FF games, the ME games do not behave like movies and spend half their time in cut scenes.

Only thing about the Mass Effect games is, they're kind of short, which I guess is understandable given what goes into them. If you're looking for a massive time-sink then go for DAO instead.

Honestly, play one or two BioWare games and everything else will seem like crap. (Well, Bethesda's stuff comes close, everything else is miles behind)

Been playing Heavy Rain for PS3 for a few days. Very very impressed. This is a must buy!!! Got 4-5 hours playing time already and it just gets better and better..
