my sentiments exactly..

who the fuck cares..really? I have no idea why people go so rabid over stuff like this. I couldn't believe how angry some of the people I heard on the radio were..seriously? Are you just THAT unhappy..

this is slightly amusing at best...

He who is without sin may cast the first stone.

Its one thing to critisize political records. Its another to judge someone based on this. I think this speaks volumes more about the poor character of the girl than it does of him. Im not saying what he allegedly did is excusable, but we all have things in our lives that we wouldnt want the public to know

This is his personal life!

People are f*****! They love to talk shit about other people's private lives, but who knows all the shit they do in their own...

F***** up world we live in...

Which is exactly why I don't know a single person who could ever run for politics.

However, when someone does decide to run, they need to think about what their skeletons are and be prepared for them to come out. Right or wrong, the media is what it is, and they will not be kind and neither will most of the public.

Personally I don't think a 32 year old David Miller loving leftie ever had a shot to begin with anyways.

Word out is that he is planning a new TTC policy that "those under 20 ride free"

Because we're not celebrities of some kind or politicians. We haven't become public figures, so therefore no one gives a fcuk about our private lives.

If you choose to become a public figure, expect your life to be public. It's not that hard to understand.

since when is it an "affair" when you arent married?

I dont think it was a smart move on his part, especially considering he's in the public eye now....however...the man didnt have a ring on his finger. So technically it wasn't reaaaaally an affair...and how come they keep using the work 'partner'? what's wrong with 'girlfriend'?

Posted by Tordan on Feb-09-2010 23:04:

^^ partner is the PC term these days.

can someone shed some light here?
so from what i gather an unmarried man had sex with a single woman, why is that supposed to affect his political life and why do people care?

Posted by Vivid Boy on Feb-10-2010 01:00:

To me it's not the "affair" so to speak... it's the fact that he managed to be such a royal asshole about the whole thing. Not that anyone didn't already know that he was a royal asshole.

People who choose to become public figures need to recognize that they are PUBLIC figures and all their actions will be judged.

^ bingo. you could argue that his character doesn't necessarily reflect his abilities as a mayoral candidate.. but if we're talking about trust, i'd rather pick the upstanding citizen any day.

^ best comment in this thread. joking aside, i also think this whole incident reflects more poorly on the girl than anything..

How was he an asshole about the whole thing? because he had sex with a woman that got pissed off when she realized that he was with an another woman before?
Knowing that he was a public figure she purposely went to the media and disclosed intimate details about their relationship so she could get back and embarrass him. That's fucking disgusting in my opinion.

Regardless of who it is, public figure or not private life should not leave the bedroom, this woman should feel embarrassed.
