great race..... i enjoyed it. Too bad for vettle and i agree about hamilton mouthing off.

I thought that the accident was more his fault that webber. Hamilton went left and then cut all the way to the right trying to trick Alonso, Webber had nothing else to do.

Posted by pmoisse on Mar-28-2010 19:28:

^ it was just a racing incident (thankfully we had enough racing to actually earn a racing incident with drivers fighting for position!!). Hamilton did dodge around more than Webber was probably expecting though, but since Webber was looking to cash in on anyone's mistake, he was closer than was maybe appropriate.

Shame for Vettel for sure. Once again, he controlled the pace from the front only for the car to puke and leave him for shit, this time without any points at all.

wat??

clearly Webber's fault, which he himself admitted as did the stewards

Did he? I dunno, i saw it live, and it seemed it was his fault live. Maybe i am wrong

haha gongshow of a quali today.

Ferrari and McLaren got burned by their own foolishness.

Looking forward to the race tomorrow!

Posted by pmoisse on Apr-04-2010 19:51:

Good race today! I thought (was hoping - just to fuck things up a bit) that some rain might appear near the end.

Some good fighting mid-pack

Posted by nchs09 on Apr-05-2010 05:16:

great race indeed..... 0 complaints except maybe wishing Alonso would have brought the fire to Button with out his engine blowing out. ( who would of though, me cheering on a Ferrari driver)

I hope the season keeps getting spicy!

Good on Alonso for fighting until it broke though instead of nursing it until the end. Damn thing sounded like it was going to puke every time he downshifted into a corner. Impressive it lasted that long and with Alonso not really losing pace to Button

Posted by pmoisse on Apr-17-2010 17:44:

Good quali today. Red bulls are fast, not sure what happened to Hamilton in Q3 - he had no pace.

Buemi's crash in practice was pretty crazy too. It's like the wheels were knocked off by little explosive charges.

Everyone is saying that rain is coming tomorrow which should make things interesting

Posted by stren on Apr-18-2010 21:54:

Ridiculous ruling from the stewards. I thought there was some ruling against racing in the pit entry and crossing white lines. The second safety car was a poor choice, double waved yellows would be enough

Buemi's crash:

Posted by nchs09 on Apr-19-2010 20:07:

The race was pretty hot... untill i noticed button was going to win, then i just deleted the race from my dvr.... what a douche.

Agreed. Both drivers deserved some more penalty than just a slap on the wrist, but they both needed an equal penalty since they were equally wrong. A drive thru would have been good, or a 5 spot grid penalty at the next race. nothing too severe, but enough to hurt and discourage that sort of thing. They were too close to the air guns and other mechanics.

Agreed on the other safety car too. There wasn't much debris out there at all.

Some good racing down the order though

3 days till pratice.... i have heard shit that mercedes is "pimp my car"...... which makes the racing even spicier..... spicy!

I thought the race on sunday was good. I loved how micheal kept the field behind him with a ton of presure from jenson.

Overall a good race, good improvement by Mercedes.

Agreed! Some drama near the end with Vettel's car running pretty much without brakes too.

Monaco this weekend should be good, especially if it rains like one report said it might.

I'll have to pvr it though since I'll be at the Nurburgring for the ADAC 24 Hours race on the Nordshleife! 2x Lexus LFA's will be running along with some DTM cars of various years. Group C historic races on the Friday too! Can't wait

Posted by apple country on May-13-2010 04:04:

amazing season.

the crown jewel of the whole year is this week!

Monaco.....

can't wait for every second of it.

also...never liked Alonso...but him in a Ferrari...I dunno. He is impressive.

Monaco should be a class race.

I have officially become a fan of the redbull team.

I am also exited to see what kobayashi can do.

Here's some from the first batch from the 3 hour classics race on the Friday:

Full album is here: FB LINK

All in all, I took over 850 pictures over two days. The 24 Hours race was awesome. Such a great environment, super friendly and fun people, and a great circuit. I would even say that it's a better race weekend than LeMans (been to LeMans 3 times now).

The 24 Hours race was all about sportscars and touring cars. No prototypes (unless you count the pair of Lexus LFA's that were running). There was a huge clubman / amateur contingent in the 170+ entries. LeMans is more geared to huge budget teams running sports prototypes and GT3 hardware.

I'm still going through all the pics but I will post more from the other support races and the 24 Hours soon

Renault Trophy race - full of Cup Clio's, and a few Megane Trophy cars. Two Alpine A110's as well as some other classic Renault 5 Turbo's and one Turbo 2

Megane Trophy

Apline A110 in what was a big slide into the first corner on the GP circuit. It was super foggy with lots of mist and drizzle.

So.... F1 is coming back to the US. In Austin, Texas.

Thoughts?

Posted by MindShifter on May-26-2010 19:37:

odd location imo, but bernie loves when a new track is built just for f1 so we'll see... they surely blew austin enough in the press release, having never been there personally i can't really comment on the city itself. that being said i woulda have preferred if the NYC rumors had been true...
