I thought this was the 'ad thread' not the 'tv spot' thread, lol.

Time for some Out of home media. One of my favorites, a 50 foot billboard in SoHo, I wrote my visual communication essay on this masterpiece...

lol!

It may seem like nothing more than your typical, highly sexually charged Calvin Klein ad, but I think its a brilliant piece of work for a bunch of reasons. One is its ability to gain and hold attention. I called this section "Viewer or Voyeur? Attention and Engagement". For the sake of keeping things simple, we're watching young adults engage in sexual behaviour. It successfully turns us, the audience, into voyeurs. The image, using other principles of visual communication, causes us to raise questions, feel certain emotions, and react a particular way, resulting in deeper and deeper engagement, and lasting impression.

Not necessarily the best ad ever, but the kid in it makes me laugh every time.

I actually feel sorry for the kid whenever I see the ad.

Anyone noticed the blatant ripoff music the Princess Margaret Hospital Lottery uses in their radio ads lately? The Cure should sue their pants off!
