So my girlfriend got accepted, looks like I might be going.

I just wanted to ask of the people who have been before...is the party honestly worth it? I'm sure the open bar and music are great, but I don't want to pay $150 to be trapped on a boat with stuck-up and pretentious people...the whole judgment process of this just has me worried, and I would like to know what the overall vibe of the previous parties has been.

Posted by sucanushie on Mar-17-2010 13:59:

I got "chosen" and she said it was $250 a ticket...

who in there right mind would pay that?

Posted by HALO555 on Mar-17-2010 14:22:

the party is definetely worth it, especially if you are fans of sasha and digweed. I've met some cool people on the boat. it's a very nice chill time and the music is a bit more chill at first but certainly picks up toward the end as you would expect from a sasha/digweed set. top shelf open bar and a pretty good sit down dinner all while taking a beautiful cruise along the waters of Miami.

the only negative is the bathroom situation so don't drink too much beer.

Posted by HALO555 on Mar-17-2010 14:26:

as for how people are chosen, it does sound weird. "interesting" WTF. I think it's done that way to just give an opportunity to basically anyone that seems they might really want to get on the boat that wasn't already invited and had paid to get on. I don't think it's a cheap event to put together.

How else could they really ask ?

Will be there as always

To be honest, there will be max 50 people who've bought the ticket, the rest are industry people who have gotten invitations. It's the party of the conference for many people and I would happily pay $150 for it

definitely worth it. obviously there will probably be some pretentious people but fuck em. free food, booze and choons.

But as Halo555 mentioned, it helps being a Sasha/Diggers fan.

Posted by enydo on Mar-17-2010 20:09:

Guess I'll be there.

but yeah, I think we are gonna do it...if anything, just for the experience of it. I posted this in tickets for sale...but if there's any females that want to go, PM me and we might can help you out. Trying to fill our ratio, lolz.

Posted by drEamer on Mar-17-2010 21:17:

so how much are these tickets?

Posted by enydo on Mar-17-2010 21:18:

$150.00

Posted by sucanushie on Mar-17-2010 21:22:

I was told $250 from Marina @ Ruby Skye

Posted by Seppuku on Mar-17-2010 21:23:

They're probably charging you more because you're not interesting enough.

Posted by sucanushie on Mar-17-2010 21:25:

haha you might be right

ahh well I will settle for mansion that night.

And Sasha on Sat.

Posted by enydo on Mar-17-2010 21:25:

Yeah, get more interesting please.

Also, take pictures with hotter chicks. This is the only way to make parties awesome.

you have not been on this cruise yet, have you? unlike other cruises, ruby skye spares no expense. They put a sound system on an open air boat that sounds better than most clubs, great lighting and best of all great atmosphere.

I'm not going on it, my flight arrives after the ship sets off but I would go again if it was not for that. Dont ever put Ibiza in your plans if thats how you think about spending money on a party.

Really though you have to think of a couple of things when it comes to spending big money on a party.

-How much did I spend on hotel and airfare/travel
-How many strings did I have to pull to get the time off at work and make sure my workload is covered by another employee
-How much do I have invested in the entire trip
-Do I really like the artist playing

If you spent 1000's of dollars on the entire trip and went through tons of trouble to make sure you could go and you really liked the DJ then it would be dumb to limit yourself to cheap parties when everything else was done.
