| Originally posted by ~C~ I LOVED Oakenfold's set. No complaints AT ALL. I was almost as excited going to see him last night (shockingly for the fist time), as I am anytime I'm seeing Sasha! So pretty fucking excited! lol Oakenfold is a legend, and he didn't disappoint me at all. Anyone know what his first track was??? I really enjoyed when he played "St. Francis Foley - Stoneface and Terminal" - a friend ID'd it for me. Wow, what a HUGE track! And I'm sorry, but I'll never get sick of the Braveheart theme song. LOL loved it. I spent a lot of time in Gallery in the beginning on the night, and I think it was Chris Fresque on the decks? Anyway, whoever it was was great. A really fun, upbeat set. He played a remix of "Music Sounds Better With You", anyone know what one it was? I stuck around for most of M&S's set, and was pleasantly shocked and surprised that they literally took over from where Oakenfold left off, and stuck with playing progressive, and progressive trance! I was totally expecting the usual mix of techno, tech house and house from them (which I also love), but it was a really nice and unexpected change. They are so versatile! Well done boys. They really understand how to play for the crowd in front of them. only complaint.....it was TOO rammed in Guv. And ya, no Rev's! But, you could get them them in Gallery, so it all worked out. LMAO |

Despite what most people thought I actually enjoyed Oakey's set quite a bit. He played some fluffy/cheese but it was kept to a minimum. Shame he only played for 2 hours but I guess that's the standard length of his set. Gallery was off the hook all night! Great opening set by Fresque for his bday beats, Iron Mike DESTROYED with amazing tribal and Ovi M/Greg Gow rounded things out very nicely with an abundance of tech. It was also really interesting to see a different side of Manzone & Strong in the main room - hope I get the opportunity to see a set like this in the future. They fucking closed the main room Mark Oliver style!!

Mark Oliver played an EXCELLENT opening set. I love him more and more each time I hear him play - although only when he plays house. He played a track that had a bit of something from Shirley Temple (maybe) in it... loved it.
Went to Acid lounge for a while to check out Nate Howells. He was pretty good. It was pretty quiet in there in the beginning but nice to see that lots of people from Buffalo came to support him.
Oakenfolds set was nothing special for me. There were lots of 'epic' moments but I just couldnt get into the trance. Mixing was okay but nothing I saw made me think 'wow I understand why this guy is a legend'. I preferred his second half of the set as it got much harder but was extremely happy to know he was only playing for 2 hours.
Ciara summed up Manzone and Strongs set best. I was really impressed to see the how versatile Joe and Fab are, I thought they would play one prog trance tune and then quickly move on to house. But they continued where Paul left off and played some really great prog tunes along with some houseyer and techyer tracks. It was awesome to see them play so hard, as I am use to only hearing their opening sets. Left at 5:30, I really wish I could have seen where they went from there.
I really liked how smirnoff set up the stage and the free drinks were wonderful
Think we may hit guv next weekend for what is now a rare 9 hour appearance by Mr. Oliver

I was in Acid Lounge most of the night ... Chris Larsen from YM started the night off nicely, up next was Nate Howell (Buffalo) made his debut at Guv and he did really well...played a sick set, so proud of you friend
, closing Acid Lounge was Mikey Terra who played some really good tracks. Went into the main room for a couple minutes here and there but I couldn't stand what I was hearing. Went over to Gallery...Ovi M was playing really well...but it was really hot in there so I ventured back to the Acid Lounge. Fun fun times. Great meeting some new TA's. Loved seeing Tara (2 days in a row!!) and Jill

I HAD to post this. I never thought I'd hear Joe play anything even remotely close to this. And the best part is, he is clearly grooving to it
Kinda distorted in the beg., but you'll def. be able to hear the trancey goodness as the vid. goes on.
