You mean, like, it had resurrected before? That's news to me.

One of the best trance tracks from the last couple of years.

If you haven't listened to trance for ten years, then I'd recommend you to find Astral Projection sets from 2000-2002 ish.

Also this is really good, one of my all time favorite mixes -

Don't know how old the tracks are that Hamid used but even if you were into trance back in the days, you might have missed some good tracks

Same goes for this one http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...%22black+sun%22

I do like the happy stuff too. It just has to be done right.

Oh, try the mix in my signature then

I'm listening to John 00 Fleming's Essential Mix right now. It's pretty good. Going to listen to the others after this one.

But now I have to ask: why is Above and Beyond, Tiesto and others like that so popular compared to John 00 Fleming?

I think epic trance is really what killed it.

I like Cosmic Baby though. He made some great tracks.

Is there some modern day acid trance? That would be nice.

I was joking man.... Cosmic baby was keepin it real! Euro fag epic trance killed it.

As for modern day acid trance, check out Union Jack's latest album, Pylon Pigs. Also he did a guest mix in John 00 Flemings latest podcast.

They are more popular because its basically a competition of whos music is more magic, how many unicorns they can fit into their music videos, and how many candy kids they have putting their hands in the air jumping around like monkeys to determine who is the best trance DJ. Basically you as a DJ are rated on how lame and generic you can be. The more, the better. Horrendous trance diva spewing nonsense all over your cheesy super saw lead? Hit. Gigantic 3 minute buildup and breakdown? Hit. Electro pop fart bass with PLENTY of white noise? Hit.

The majority of modern trance listeners are to busy tweaking on meth tabs to know what good music is.

What is popular doesn't = good. Also they have a lot of followers who try to produce generic bland sounding tracks to get signed & it works. John's sound works because there are some good artists out there who can produce the sounds we're after and if it got mainstream popular it would lose a lot of what makes it special imo.

Try these out.

And Whirloop - A night in botanic gardens - http://www.trackitdown.net/genre/tr...ack/738954.html

Sounds like this really 'trance' me out to be honest. I love what it can do.

- W&W I think they're very good tech-trance producers although it's not like the old tech sound.

Personally I find this anthem like melody sound very cheap, feels like an imitation.
I like the melody of Emotion more. Airbase - Emotion
Indeed they sound pre 2000.

One Man Army - Ballroom Dancer is once of Jezpers finest imo.

I think it's one of the simplest melodies he has on a track but i really like that euphoric feeling , i love all of his productions Genie is probably my fav for a slightly difference, his a real master of the melodies.

Now the melodies are arpeggios or made with only 4 keys, very plain tracks relying more on string chorus. I really miss this kind of songs... but i love Sean Tyas work too 4 Strings - Daytime (S.Tyas Remix) it's such a track
