yah but making a new freddy isn't just like remaking some bullshit.
there's lots of potential to make it really nasty.
instead they didn't.

this helps, thanks. was working on exactly the same thing, prepping my wife and thinking of a bribe to get her to watch this with me, but I'll save the goodwill for another movie, and just rent this one for home (probably more scary that way too).
can't wait for I2 next week, Robin Hood (yeah I know, questionable, but Russell Crowe + violence = win), Prince of Persia, and there are a couple of others (A-team...)

btw; the scariest movie of recent was paranormal activity. that movie gave me the heeby jeebies.

Yeah, I'll be interested to see what that's like. I mean, it's a Robin Hood movie. Meh-ish. But Ridley Scott directing? Wat.

Russel Crowe though. I expect lots of overexposed, slow-motion sequences with cartoonishly dramatic overtones and blaise political commentary.
On the upside, there's rumblings of an Alien remake or possibly a prequel involving Ridley Scott. I just hope he doesn't reveal that all of the Aliens have been female all along and they have been retaliating against the galaxy because they were gentrified out of their home planet by chauvinist humans drilling for resources.
//Oh shit, thought I was being ridiculous there. How funny that Cameron directed the 2nd one and then went on to do Avatar. Jesus Christ.

so much potential, and so much fail. SO much fail. predictable one liners and terrible acting, not to mention suspense was ruined so early on. really disappointing.
