No such thing exists. We die and that is all. Quit trying to make yourself feel better with nonsense.

I want to know where "Team Spirit" has gone. Players only care about their own stats, its such a shame.

The knowledge of our mortality is one of the most defining and crucial features of mankind, decisively contributing to the appearance of that shit named religion.

LOL, this is why I say that you're dense on purpose. Scientific advancements in the fields of medicine, biology, etc. are not driven by fear of dying but by enhancement of life.

Obviously not all scientific advancements are driven by this fear - if you read my OP carefully, you'd see I said 'a great deal'.

tunnel vision and a "white light" are what you experience when your brain is deprived of oxygen (when the brain is dying basically). Military test pilots have had the same experience when put in those big centrifuges to test their stress limitations.. There's nothing mystical about it. Naturally religions have heard these stories though and invented silly stories about your family being at the other end of the "tunnel". Actually, Oscar, I need to side with nefardec on this one: if "enhancement of life" rather than "fear of death" were the motor behind the advancement in these fields, the necessary technology to keep people barely alive through tubes and catheters would have never been created.

The "denial of death" (to borrow Becker's term) has been one of the most powerful drives to master the world we've ever acknowledged.

ps.: That's one of the best books I've ever read. It's simply amazing
