I don't even like minimal techno, but the element of surprise and not knowing the songs make these parties immediately better than trance parties right off the bat, it's a shame. I don't know if I'm the only cynical one that's sick of the same songs over and over, or has the overall crowd just changed due to trance becoming more popular? I roll my eyes when I hear some of these songs, my body doesn't even have an urge to dance sometimes, while everyone around me is going crazy; it's like a complete psychological lack of excitement.. Am I just out of touch? |
Go Brad!!
What's with the false advertising on the website? The banner on top says "Free Admission Click Here" but it's actually $10 before midnight..Nice!

saw him in vegas at Rain/Perfecto last week when Sean played.
I have never, ever seen such an uninterested DJ, in fact he was so bored he would have the track playing and rest on the side of the stage..lol...However, he was very nice to me and we actually spoke in the hallway when his set was done, so at least I can say he was nice.

Oakie used to be good many years ago !! he being in NY for the 4th of July week-end used to be/has been a tradition. Tiesto is heading the same direction as oakenfold.

I heard Tiesto and Afrojack today on 92.3

Hey I will be spinning in the basement for this event. I can't wait.
Stoked for tomorrow! Got some crazy crazy tracks I can't wait to drop
I will be there tonight for Oakie and can't wait. I love his perfecto mixes. So many people think he sold out since the swordfish albums but his live sets are still amazing. I remember when he used to play every year in Philly on thanksgiving eve. Although...the last time i seen him was about 4 years ago at Nation, DC. So I'm very excited to see what tonight will bring.
Shit, im going just to meet you skytrance lol
Screw Oakenfold lol but for 10 bucks, you cant lose.
Esp when you want to hear music. Sometimes you just need some damn music

| Originally posted by AY STAR iam the same way, trance sets for the most part are very predictable i mean theres just alot more exposure between every dj haveing a radio show and dj's just whoreing out their own productions and the same old songs there are very few trance dj's that do it for me these days, times have changed i guess but yea thats why iam goin back to listenin to house mostly as well as techno cause its always something new and fresh and the crowd/vibe is different there are soooooo many good trance tracks out there this year but again its just not getting exposure from alot of dj's |
I thought Oakenfold played pretty solid last night, def one of the best I've seen him. Had a great time playing as well, and really appreciate everyone sticking it out till the end!
Pretty good night I have to say. I agree that it was super packed!! I kept waiting for some room to be made but as the hours went on it was still like a sardine can!
Brad you played some interesting songs there, I liked that vibe you had going there. I ran out of energy from trying the melbourne shuffle though!! LoL
I thought the set was pretty standard, but I had fun. sorry I left before brad flgot on, I always enjoy his sets, but it was just too damn hot

I don't think it was that packed, but I got upstairs after I stopped spinning in the basement at 2. I want to thank everyone for the good turnout in the basement. I really had a blast spinning, and people really seemed to be enjoying themselves.
As for Oakies set. I though it was good. I mean all I heard was his classic stuff, which you can't go wrong with. Brad i though did an amazing job afterwards. I stayed to about 5:30 I think.
I think overall it was a fun night with solid music, and that's pretty much all I ask for.
Brad,
When you played Ruff Drivers presents arrola- Dreaming....I almost DIED!!!! thank you for that....such an AMAZING classic i rarely ever hear played out.
edit: not sure if that was the exact mix, but you know what i mean!!
