Yeah, that's a shitty thought. It's not about the job as much as it is the prospect of not knowing/finding what one is passionate about, or finding work that is the best use of one's skills, talents, and interests. *SHUDDER*

That's the thing, I'm not really passionate about anything. I do have a few interests, but I have a feeling that turning them into a job would make me hate them pretty fast.

God, you've really become quite the Eeyore these days. Have you thought about becoming addicted to something?

I don't get addicted to things very easily at all, or at least not to drugs. I've never tried the more hardcore stimulants or opiates, but those are too much of a financial hassle for me to consider making them a habit.

sometimes you don't enjoy your job for things outside of your actual responsibilities. my job was at my dream company in my ideal department doing interesting things but there was so much other stuff that made it miserable to the point i felt ill at times. maybe you've never experienced it but i've seen my fair share of grown women crying in the bathroom because of stress and other work stuff. it's horrible.

no more nhl contracts?

I'm in a bit of a unenjoyable situation as well... i'm pretty good at what i do in my job, but since naturally i tend to be a little socially awkward, having a job that isolates you thinking hard in front of a computer all day long, only makes it worse and makes me feel like shit. :\

I'm contracted for 2 more years, and there's little other options on the job market over here, so the situation isn't changing in the near future. I guess adapting to the situation is the only way out, but it's not been easy...

ah ha, well sometimes imo not the best to work at something you care too much about because work could ruin it. also for others it's all about the paycheck first so not surprised people end up in jobs they hate or the job they hate is a stepping stone to their dream job but not everyone gets to be the head of a company or whatever. that inability to move upward causes people to resent their job and eventually hate it. overall, i don't think anyone starts a job they know they'll hate unless it's a necessary evil, like an internship sucks to be someone's bitch but you gotta do it sometimes.
