ummm gionta had a good year last year.
you would seriously take a 33 year old that had his bell rung so badly and has never been the same since? over a young buck who is a better all around player and will play for your team for many more years????
have you seen savard's contract?
it is easy to figure out why no one hired you to be their gm. i'll take a hit of whatever you are smoking though.

| Originally posted by trancypantzzz you don't win championships with a ton of wingers. the devils have chosen kovalchuk over parise, which is the right decision. they need a top line center. CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE WON BY TEAMS WHO ARE STRONG DOWN THE MIDDLE. how you make the statement that Parise is a better overall player is a surprise to me. Parise plays wing, which has the least defensive responsibility while Savard plays center, which is the toughest position period. The devils would have to drop a few overpaid players like Rolston, White, and go with minimum players. Sure, Savard wouldn't play as long as Parise, but that doesn't matter. How long will Brodeur last? Devils have a short window for success, so if they structure it right, they can go full throttle at the end of Brodeur's term and then have a few contracts die off so that they can get a replacement goalie. As it stands, they have no quality replacement goalie. If the devils are stupid enough to sign two big money wingers, they can forget about winning a championship in the future. |

I don't get them letting Niemi walk away. Dumb move, Turco is finished.
I wonder if he would take a bit less to play with the Habs
arbitrator upholds the nhl's ruling in the kovy matter.

So when do the exiting trades happen? The season cant start soon enough.
san jose isn't going to choke this year, because they will lower your expectations.
welcome back
Im always humble when I talk about San Jose. My expectations cant get much lower. Just make the Playoffs...after that its a wish and a prayer....just like the last 10 years lol.
when you live the season with lowered expectations every year like i do, when my team does well it is awesome. If they lose i just blame the muslims.
Well, aug 18 the NHL11 demo comes out. That will be my fix until the whole game and the season starts. So they shot down the Kovalchuk contract and hes now a UFA right? Where do you think he will go? Id like the Kings to get him. I think thats what the Kings need to get back into the race.
Habs will kick ass in 11.
the only game i ever seem to look forward to every year, even if it is always pretty much the same plus a few tweaks and roster differences.
towards the end of vid.
only in montreal will you go to a concert and people will start hockey chants.
i'm not a huge fan of his, but when he played helter skelter my 5 hole opened up a bit

i don't play online. i build my team with a few minor tweaks and manage maybe to get through a full season + playoffs once before the next one comes out...after that it is just drunken vs battles with friends on boys night.
not too much of a gamer type here.
i've been playing the nhl series since the first one, so i just can't really stop though can i? supa nintendo sega genesis, when i was dead broke man i couldn't picture this.
Im not much of a gamer either but the NHL series really stepped up the last couple years. It is the only game I buy full price on release day. Once hockey season starts, thats all that is on. I get the "center Ice" cable package and watch anything hockey...if nothing is on I put this game in until I can watch more.
on behalf of people who live in places that are hockey hotbeds...you are a breath of fresh air LEN. The world would be a better place with more hockey fans from places that only see real ice in the freezer.
bamski...if you are still alive, habs traded a farm league goalie(albeit a memorial cup winner and ex sidney crosby teammate) for this guy:
