yeah, i understand top dj in the world.

It's because it's friday and it's armin. If you want to go just buy the ticket now because it will definitely go up in price. Will probably close to 50 + service charge the week before if it's not sold out.

I think "Gaia - Aisha" and "Full Focus" are pretty good, personally.

It's nice to see that ATL is getting Armin. I moved to LA a couple of months ago, and my friends back home keep talking about having no trance DJs to go see, except for Markus. I guess the DJs are getting too expensive for Liquified to book? Ferry used to come twice a year, and recently they started having Above & Beyond on a yearly basis, too, which was awesome. Maybe they're all just coming in the fall or something. I know ATL is all about house and dubstep these days, but some trance can't hurt!

We have a trance guy at least once a month...

Sander Van Doorn - April 10th
Markus Schulz - June 7th
Marco V - July 28th
Rank 1 - August 25th
Armin - Sept 3rd
Ferry Corsten - October 27th

I've got some other trance guys during this time as well booked but don't have contracts yet

Ah, the only ones they'd heard about were Markus and Armin. I'll pass along the info. (they don't read these boards... maybe they should :P)

Great to hear! Hope one of those other names is Gareth Emery. On a long shot, maybe it will be Menno de Jong! I'm not sure I will try to make it back out for many other people than those 2 guys.

+1 for Gareth Emery!! saw him at for the first time earlier this year at Zouk in singapore & Ultra. awesome set!

The first Armin show in Atlanta I'm going to miss...feels kind of weird.

Posted by kckar on Sep-03-2010 22:19:

what time is he going on?

Posted by trancension on Sep-04-2010 20:11:

So how was it?

He play the same songs he's been playing the last 6 months?

This show was intoxicating. I get there early because I read my horoscope early in the day and it said, "Get to the Armin show early," so I did. The line itself outside was both aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound. I felt safe with this hoarde of fuzzers. Once inside I wiped the sweat from my brow every three minutes or so. Along the side near where they felt the least amount of dancing would occur they had set up kiosks for Armin's new Nintendo Wii game. Unable to shake my overwhelming social handicaps it was there I remained. My tendons desperately needed the attention.

As for the tracklist, I dunno for sure. Pretty certain he played that new Andain track. The one where she gargles a wad of crushed up swisher sweets.

He played great music, crowd was great, and the nightclub was packed until the very end. Overall a very good set and a fun night out. They really went for it with the ice cannons too... they were going off constantly all night (even during blakes set, which was also very nice). This was really the key for me.. the club was so packed those ice cannons were saving my ass in the middle of that crowd.

The line was curled around the building at 10:30pm when I got there and we moved through it almost instantly.. couldn't have been more than a 5min wait. The bars kept up with service great as well.. never had an issue waiting for drinks. The only downside to that was they only served 1 beer all night, but, it was only $5 so didn't really mind.

Tracks I could ID from memory in no certain order:

Push - Universal Nation
Faithless - Not Going Home (Armin Mix)
Cirez D - On Off mashed with In and out of love
Sophie Sugar Vs Sunlounger - Lost Together (Armin Van Buuren Mash Up)
Jon O'Bir Feat. Fisher - Found A Way (Joint Operations Centre Remix)
Armin van Buuren feat. Ferry Corsten - Minack (Album Version)
Armin van Buuren - Orbion (Album Version)
Armin van Buuren - Full Focus (Album Version)

My lone video for now ~ can't see shit really cause the ice cannons keep going off. I'll get the other 15 up soon hopefully.

So a sardine can plus the usual tracks it looks like...

I'm sure it was still a good time though. Armin's shows are always a killer. Even if the sardine can makes it uncomfortable as fuck. Disappointed in myself for missing it. Been to every show of his until this one...oh well.

Posted by kckar on Sep-05-2010 21:20:

for me, it was a pretty good night. i still think the show back in april 2009 had a lot more energy (from both the crowd and armin). imo, it seemed like armin kept close to just going nuts, and was trying to get the crowd to respond a little bit more but the crowd wasn't helping him go over the edge. i think the big letdown was the vip section. i know the vip pays a lot of money, (i think $225 per head was the quote i got), but they seemed to be bringing down the energy. armin kept looking up at them to try to get them to go nuts, but they just stood there.

Was it just me or was it not loud enough?

Posted by trancension on Sep-06-2010 00:09:

Ya, Armin definitely feeds off the crowd most of the time...sometimes I've seen him go crazy as fuck with a zombie crowd though.

But the crowd seemed pretty lifeless for Armin on a Friday night? That's disappointing. I hope Gareth gets more life.

It actually seemed louder to me... weird. I was hanging near the front though.

Posted by Caution_BiPolar on Sep-06-2010 03:11:

I didn't intend to come, and I actually didn't make it until a quarter to 1AM. So maybe sobriety is quieter than my normal state at that point.

That $225 included all I could drink.

As for the sardine can we actually kept it 100 people below capacity to keep everyone comfortable.

Posted by Liquified on Sep-06-2010 13:23:

Whoops that was supposed to read all you could drink. Lol

Yeah...he & Blake have been good friends for quite some time. I would have come as well if I hadn't already been in NYC for EZ.
