Yeungling is average/below average. There are hundreds or thousands of breweries better than Yeungling in the United States.

Sorry to break this to the Canadians, but the fact is that there is just far, far better beer to be had in the US than Canada these days. Sure it isn't that easy to come by, but you have to know the right place to look to find good beer in any country.

I'm talking about German beer being extremely highly rated by people who don't know anything about beer, while those who know beer know that 95% of beer in Germany is worthless, just like in every other country in the world. There are good beers in Germany but they are regional specialities that I am sure neither you nor the German poster earlier have ever heard of and are not indicative of the quality of the average German beer.

Canada has some of the best microbreweries around. I've drank beer in over 25 countries and nothing compares to even the so so microbreweries canada has.

Canada is America with a chip on its shoulder.

Fixed again

You guys have no clue how to drink beer, do you? This is the proper way:
1) Open the Guiness can.
2) Pour it in the toilet.
3) Buy Some anejo Havana club add coke.
4) Drink that.

People actually fight over beer?? That shit is ugh.

Not even close to the US, I am afraid.

I think part of the problem is Canadians already have quite an arrogant attitude to their nation's beer and unwilling to experiment or embrace ideas from other cultures. It's not unlike the situation in Germany, actually.

I am sorry, but with this and your earlier comment it is quite clear that you have nothing to add to this discussion so perhaps you could stop posting here. Thank you.

and what have you added to the conversation...other then to say there are good local beers everywhere....no shit.

how about point me in the direction of an actual good american beer. Like I said....I haven't tasted a good american beer....so how about listing some that you think are good.

There is fine quality beer like there is fine quality wine or anything else in life.

Unfortunately, quite unlike with wine, a lot of drinkers of poor quality beer are mistaken in believing that they have good taste.

This thread is kind of the equivalent of someone who buys box wine at Costco telling an educated wine expert about wine.

Entirely depends on where in the United States you intend to visit, because some of the best breweries are only distributed in certain states.

Canadians have a tendency to think that they're above everyone else, especially Americans. It's so ironic considering that it's a country that is entirely dominated by America both culturally (not including Qubec) and economically.

It saddens me that this has happened.
