This is definately a bad thing for the European trance culture. Last year people tried to forbid the loveparade because one guy got killed. I mean, seriously, what is one guy out of 1.5 milion?
Of course, this is yet another life wasted, and I'm really sorry because of that, but isn't it so, that every night in (for example) Amsterdam someone gets killed, without there being 1.5 milion partying on the streets?

The use of drugs shouldn't be something to worry about, neither should violence be. It's the happiest day of the year, and no more accidents will happend then on a regular day.

actually they reason they are canceling it wasnt because of the drug use...its was cus of the deminstrators for wildlife or somehting like that ..cuz after loveparade 2000 ....the locol forrest and habitat was so baddly damagded from the 1.5 million people thats the main reason.....but i heard it was going to ge canceled and it was going to be held in July 20 somehting i cant remember..... but if its not going to be in Berlin it will be somewhere else.....

i went to love parade 96,98,and 2000 and its somehting to experiance... i remember when it started in 1990 ... ...from 500 people to almost 2 milliom people shows the significance of this event....if this even gets lost ..this will be the downfall of what created the Massive party and the massive event throughout the world!!!!...Loveparade was the event that said electronic music simblized Peace!!!

it will be a sad day if the Loveparade is no more

it'll probably still be on the 14th of july!!!

(which is a good thing, because I leave for my holiday vacation a few days later)

Yeah the love parade will either be a the same date.. or it will be put forward to a few days ahead..

The parade couldnt be held cause of protesters whom will be on the same route as the loveparade...These people are protesting against the piss-smell the garbage and the wrecked trees etc...

ah, i hadn't realized that the berlin and radio 1 love parade were two different events. i guess they're both pretty big, the bbc one was at leeds last year..?
they have an absolutely crazy lineup this year, for fans of every musical genre of electronic music....

Radio 1 will host the second Love Parade on Saturday 21st July. Here's the plans and venue......

We will be talking over Newcastle with a huge parade of super charged floats which will weave through the streets of Newcastle ending on the City's Town Moor, where they'll be a massive Radio 1 open stage. The biggest dance DJs, the UK's premier clubs and hundreds of thousands of clubbers will be brought together by Radio 1 - all free of charge.

Like last year the floats will be hosted by a variety of leading clubs, DJs, record companies and publications from the dance community. Over 250,000 clubbers descended on Leeds last year and we expect Newcastle's Parade to be even bigger and better.
