every single sequencer does the same thing..at this point in time. its like asking a painter what brushes he uses.

most artists are very particular about what brushes they use.

I would advise using logic, but ableton is also very good. These types of questions are so personal its not something you can give a definate answer to. You could go and use reason, that may be easier to get the hang of, but so could cubase lol.

The best test is to definately download the demo's, they are all fully functional and from there you will see what works for you, and how easy which one is for you to use. Some find logic easy, some find ableton etc.

Why not just download the official demos?

Is there a demo for Logic? I know there is for Live.

Id buy Logic Express and Ableton Intro, and get to know both of them.
Then upgrade to full versions of whichever u think works out best for you. I did this and ended up with Logic. But I still might upgrade Ableton too at one point, but not now, I really like Logic.

I intend on using logic one day, ive used it before and its a great product, really worth using.

Ableton has its advantages too though, its not just easier to use, its also got the session view, which logic doesn't have at all. That can be an amazing tool for getting some inspiration and even getting whole arrangements down. Its also got Max4live, which logic doesn't and which is far harder than logic could ever be to master, so its not a simpler environment by any means.

I guess which one is easier will depend on what you wanna do. If you want to run a pro tools front end and record an 80 piece orchestra using only built in effects, I'd say logic might have the edge. If you want to perform a live DJ set or do FFT fun in your DAW then live is the way to go.

I think ableton is easier to use, easier than fruity loops... and got more audience regarding help for things.

yea bit more difficult but worth it in my opinion. I started on Reason then Cubase but found myself unable to create anything apart from trance. Now on logic im producing techno, minimal, trance and house. It is also down the producer as well but I find that the audio units logic provide are heaps and bounds above any other daw has to offer.

Its something I intend on doing. Trying not to get in debt to buy one on credit, so saving for one. The saving isnt going well at all.

Logic 9 can with FlexTime. Its not quite as good as Ableton, but its a step in the right direction.

Its just not as easy as with Ableton. The operation must be performed inside a "Sample Editor" window, as opposed to directly on an audio track in the Arrange window. The transient detection is not quite as intuitive and accurate as Live, and there have been some questions about inferior quality in fast transients when warping at extreme levels. I think that Live has superior algorithms for warping as well as offering specific algorithm types based upon source material. I could not find any option equivalent in Logic FlexTime.

However, I think that we are closer to having Ableton style warping in Logic than ever, as the Live method seems to be the standard. I would anticipate seeing a more "Live-like" warping method in Logic sooner rather than later, provided they can do so without violating any patents or technology copyrights.
