I was being bitten like crazy so I'm gonna go out in an hour and see what's up...some places are saying it's gonna be visible at 2am (let's see)

oh yea on theddo.ca it says "A camera set on a tripod can easily record the aurora with exposures of 10 t0 30 seconds at an ISO setting of 400."

Posted by LKD on Aug-04-2010 04:11:

Did you see anything at all?

Posted by Intangible on Aug-04-2010 12:52:

So no one here saw it?

I was bummed to be missing this. It's my dream to see the northern lights - looks like I'll have to keep with my original plan to visit the territories and see the lights in their full glory

Here's what they looked like by lake simcoe

So what I heard on the news this morning was that we're all too southern to see it... at least last night. I hope tonight will be different.

I recommend everyone track it with this:

http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/auroraf...t/ShortTerm.asp

although it's only about 1/2 hour ahead, at least we dont get our hopes up too much

Let's hope for a proper appearance from the Aurora Boring-alis tonight!
