No, those would be bats

And speaking of bats: Jack, be thankful that you don't have a huge fig tree across the road from your house. Every time it fruits, the tree is covered with bats all night, and they scream like psychotic aliens.

LOL, no. I'm on my second beer of the afternoon, but I don't think that makes much difference

Have fun!

perhaps he wants to hand you a coupon. I'd go & ask for it, all sorts of fun may ensue.

Well...it's 5am and I lost power, but at least I don't have to listen to the birds since there's a massive fucking storm outside.

The birds actually caused that storm, because they thought you weren't listening hard enough to their magical words.

Posted by osterzone on Aug-05-2010 09:33:

Well the storm died down and now I hear the birds.

The power is back on too in the house...except for my room only. The AC must have blew a fuse since it was plugged into the wall and I guess I'll have to play around with the circuit box later.

Gay...

It's now 11.30am and the bird is still chirping. I did not have a good night's sleep.

Posted by infiniteJEST on Aug-05-2010 10:45:

By the sounds of it neither did the bird.

It's really loud but there's no obvious place outside it can be. I suspect it might be in our gutter or the neighbour's roof somewhere. If it's still there later I'm seriously tempted to claim out of the skylight and hunt it down.

collect a bunch of stray cats and drop them off outside your window.

Posted by aquila on Aug-05-2010 11:34:

Hang on...I'm on it!

Posted by Ian on Aug-05-2010 21:26:

Is it out to play yet?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Aug-06-2010 00:34:

No, it fucked off sometime in the early afternoon. It was the first time I'd heard it and it wasn't a mockingbird. My guess is it was dying.
