A couple, but they weren't very great clubs. I went to one in Chicago, can't remember the name, but overall there's not much of a scene for it in this area unless it's pandering to 16-20 year old girls.

I don't see what that has to do with what I said. Trance obviously was meant to be dance music but it's not a bastardization of the genre if after 20-30 years certain subgenres start shifting away from it. There are tracks that will only sound good on a dance floor, and there are tracks that will only sound good on headphones. I don't see why people think that's an issue.

Just to be perfectly clear - I don't really think it's an issue, at all. Personally, I like stuff which draws me in with an intellectual finesse; an aesthetic attention to detail paid too infrequently in conglomerate releases such as Josh Harris: Distortion on the Dancefloor. Not that it's horrible (TBH - it's well crafted), but having read another interview, it seemed like his intent was strictly to fashion something which was commercially viable opposing meeting any requirement for intellectual integrity.

I danced to Se Ra Phic - Desert Rose at my apartment last night. Once the breakdown hit, I marched to the kitchen and decided I want tea. I almost got the water heated up to it's boiling point during the breakdown.

I'm not saying the breakdown wasn't nice, but it sure as hell wasn't danceable.

I'm saying uplifting trance is teaparty music.
