What you have to do is to be more creative and make "new age trance" as much as i like the old '99; style, its gone now, and ppl like ferry who is my god still makes similar stuff 2 what he made a few yrs ago and the synths r still similar. Tiesto is shit, he is over rated, he has made one good tune recently thats suburban train, the rest r poor, in my memory is AMAZING (but that wld b the Airwave remix). I don't want to go on about how poor his remixing is, and his mixing ain't perfect. Tiesto IS dead, Ferry is hanging on and ARMIN IS THE MAN OF THE MOMENT, he has changed, all his recent stuff has been amazing, powerful synths + good vocals, and his sets are by far the best around
Keep up the good work armin!

oh and FUCK OFF Tiesto, stop saying his stuff is good just because its him, its not its shit

I don't like his latest mixes too (for Moby, Dave Matthews Band, Kosheen), but the Southern Sun was excellent... I didn't like his album either, only Urban Train and Flight 643, the other tracks are a little bit boring, In My Memory only is a strong track in the Airwave remix, Lethal Industry is great thanx to the Svenson & Gielen remix...

Yeh DJ Tiesto - In My Memory (Airwave Remix) IS AMAZING !!!

Posted by webbie on Jul-26-2002 15:19:

Tisto just happens to make remixes for more then the "i-want-the-old-sound-mainstream",
i dont like his old remixes but i think thats in a way good, then he wont get boring.

If Tisto just produced number one tracks I would start finding him uninteresting,
just hearing his tunes in ever gig that I listen to, nah, too boring.
Like that Moby album Play where every tune was used for a commercial, how nice.

People change and we cant say if its right or wrong, we can only
say what we like for ourselves, not what Tisto himself wants to
produce. If Tisto suddenly would switch over to hard underground
techno where the tracks is atleast 20 mins long with a 6 minute
drumloop where he himself is snorting a line, we cant say that is bad
or wrong (not about the line atleast ) but that its not in our
taste.

Naming Tisto as the worst producer in 2002 is a bit.. strange, the
year is FAR FROM OVER (hey, Kamaya Painters tune!) and there is
alot of ppl that suck more at remixing then he does, many of thoose
producers not even getting their tunes played.

No, Im not a Tisto fanboy, I have throwed away alot of his recent
sets (the one at impulz is the only one i have left from this year,
the rest pretty much sucked) and I dont think his remixes are topnotch
(the moby remixes aint really my thing) but i dont think he is 2002s
worst remixer.

Posted by DJ Libor on Jul-26-2002 15:22:

That is fair, he may not be the worst of 2002 and 2002 is not over but he is overated and isn't that good

Posted by whiskers on Jul-26-2002 15:33:

can't live a day

TIESTO IS GOD!

tiesto14: word! if you people don't like his productions, forget that he even exists. don't go bashing him around and calling him the worst remixer of 2002.

Posted by Pandoneus on Jul-26-2002 15:35:

Good remix - bad remix - No matter which remixes are good and which aren't, one fact can't be denied in my opinion:

His remixes are hardly ever boring, because almost each of them has an only sound, an only bass-line and leaves a different overall impression. There are a lot of remixers which mostly use the same sounds (Dumonde / CJ Stone / S.H.O.K.K. ...), Tiesto does not! That's what I appreciate.

then why does Armin try and copy him?

haha, youre dead wrong here, pal:

have you by any chance listened to Kid Vicious - Re-form (DJ Tiesto Remix)???

did you recognise the Urban Train samples? did you?

Dude what r u on about? i think u will find (and every1 will agree) that Armin is the man of the moment and that tiesto is not, and ppl like u that bum him can't take it. Armin has is own style powerful + uplifting, tiesto has his own style boring and poor

are u new to trance?.....are u kidding me?

go take a look at Armins tracklists...they mirror Tiestos in so many ways....especially yesterdays set..which he trainwrecked more times them Amtrack...

u have no clue what your talking about....

i love Armin but he always seems to follow Tiesto...you dont beleive it..well go do the research and look at both their sets...you will see the similarities are striking.

Posted by tsetso on Jul-26-2002 17:03:

hey, ppl, are we talking about dj-ing or about remixing?

in all fairness tiesto made a decent 2002 remix:

Klea - tic toc (tiesto remix) is very good. much more than the adam dived remix...

Posted by lake10 on Jul-26-2002 17:24:

Tiesto for sure isn't the worst remixer from 2002, he still is one of the best producers/remixers and he is one of the few remixers where each remix doesn't sound the same (like for example you can easilly recognize any Svenson & Gielen mix, DuMonde mix, Klubbingman mix etc., they all sound a bit the same)... so I also wonder: does Tiesto do all the remixing by himself or does he get help from anyone? (Ronald van Gelderen?)... because otherwise the man is a God by having so many styles....

Best Tiesto remix ever:
Delerium - Silence, followed by the powermix from Balearic Bill... also his Magikal Remakes still are great.... so I must say, I liked his older remixes more...

You're absolutely right, mate - That's why I wrote "'almost' each of them has an only sound" He certainly copies his own style/samples/sounds every now and then, but: Who does not?

Have a nice weekend!

I can see we have a typical Tiesto follower here, will stick up for tiesto by taking out his poorness and failure to perform on others (in this case me) no my simple minded friend i am not new to trance but i am also not someone who follows an individual because of who they are, i do it for what they do when it comes 2 music.
Now i can see u don't take things in so read carefully, this post is about the yrs worst remixer/producer not DJ, so my friend saying Armin can't mix (which he can better then that poor tiesto) is completely beyond the point.
N e way i better go do some more "research" lol

Posted by DJ Libor on Jul-26-2002 20:36:

seems i ve done my research and found that these r the tracks armin has done:

armin van buuren feat. ray wilson - yet another day
shane - too late to turn (armin remix)
riva - time is the healer (armin mix)
solid sessions - janeiro (armin mix)
armin - sunburn

now i think u will find (unless u r new 2 trance) that they r considerably better then n e thing tiesto has done in the last 6months

I think that Dj Tiesto is in this cas. If he don't make efforts, I think he will loose all their fans forever.Ferry Corsten will have the same destiny if he don't make efforts too!

I write it because I read very often this forum and that is my conclusion of all threads I read about Tiesto and Ferry.

We need to have some new trance artists I think.

TranceRulezz

Leave Ferry out of this In fact, with Ligaya, he's proved that he still has his magic.

Tiesto, I'm afraid, is a different story all together. Like someone on this board said the other day, Tiesto is like Oakenfold. He should be respected for what he did for the scene, but he's moved on.

HEY!
I like Tisto...

Posted by Aya Brea on Jul-26-2002 20:44:

I agree with tiestointhemix completely.

The only remix I didn't like was his mix of Svenson & Gielen's We Know What You Did. You guys are being so hard on him :\. Even if his mixes weren't on the great side this year, his remix of Southern Sun makes up for all of them.

Posted by burns on Jul-26-2002 20:50:

Yeah Armin is the man of trance these days, Hey maybee you should have tuned into his state of `trance` show last night. 200 BPM Bedroom mixing and continuos fuck ups, but it kept me well amused for atleast 2 hours.

Armin has remixed Classics like - 7 cities,janiero...These tracks already have power and even your local rave DJ could remix them and they would still sound amazing, hes getting way to much credit..Janiero and 7 cities didnt even need remixing anyways.

Also, If Tiesto is worse than cabbage then dont fuckin listen to him you muppet...Grow up and stop smashing Tiesto, Just dont waste your time listening to him you fag.

We should open a Tiesto Forum, Go and flame the guy there.

I would have to disagree... Being a one-hit-wonder is something I really loath. One track can never fill in for a few others.

I agree to, and besides its not all that great n e way
