Lol at the square footage...
200 square meters = just over 2100 square feet...
Just the Guv main room alone is 22000 square feet...
I wonder how far away the condos are on the north side of the highway...

The first thing I'm going to do is write an email to my city councillor about this, and afterward I will post it in this thread.
What else can be done about this? We should create an ongoing list of various courses of action we all can take to fight this
- Email/call/write on Facebook page of your City Councillor
- Email/call/write on Facebook page of candidates
- Write a letter to the editor of your favourite newspaper
- Create an online petition
- Create a Facebook group
Where a lot of the resistance to this ridiculous bylaw is going to need to come from is from club owners and those that work in the industry. They have the time and money to deal with this problem, and it directly and significantly impacts their business. It's time for various interested parties in the industry to work together and maybe form some sort of lobbying group or meaningful business association to the resist and counteract the bullying by City Council that has been going on for far too long.
It is with this bylaw that the Council has finally crossed the line.

can someone create a facebook page?? i'm actually really pissed off about this. Is there a possibility that with enough complaints they may revert it back to the way it was? (i know it's a little more complicated than that)
It is obvious they are trying to eventually weed out every single club from the downtown core and move them outside of the city so they can use that space for other businesses and have other regions in the GTA deal with the violence/loud noise and everything else. Old people are ruining our city.
as if your sports teams were bad enough to deal with, Toronto is turning into a giant Ottawa

Perhaps a new fb 'page' (not group) is required here - specifically to deal with these new bylaws.
(Jay, your group is a great start but I think this needs to be more focused otherwise it will get lost in the shuffle)

I can do it. Any suggestions on what you guys think the title should be?
i must be alone in thinking that they passed this bylaw just so they could legally shut down certain clubs in the city
like, why did they pick 200m2 for the allowed floor space? just seems so arbitrary.. why not 250m2?

I find it interesting that the man who started club land is now building a condo in it...
Future thinking...
