it was a joke you runt. No shit it didn't happen. You are quite the detective. Sounds like you have a bucket of sand in your vagina. Are you still upset from that one encounter we had were I called you a dumbass or something similar ? Get over yourself. You might be right in calling me a prick and would not contest but one thing I am not is an idiot. An idiot would be someone that misconstrues an obvious macabre joke as reality. That is what I would call a grade A certified angus beef moron.

For $5000 it better be polyphonic.

The CV expander looks like a nice addition, allowing you to route voltages from various sources on your keyboard into other things, but it's not worth $5000 if it's monophonic.

edit: There are some expansions for Moog's that do this too and they don't cost close to $5000. So it's a bit overpriced.

Yea I totally didn't catch your "I'm full of shit" joke. It was a joke, but it wasn't even close to funny and your attempt to continue to be funny is what makes you an idiot
Carry on.

I'm guessing if I mentioned VSTs in this analogue thread a mod might come along and say that's enough.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Sep-14-2010 12:35:

I suppose your idea of comedy is Grey's Anatomy and America's Funniest Home Videos. Rape is totally in the realm of things that can be funny given a funny context. You just lack a sense of humour which is ok. Most shit artists do.

Only to certain people it seems.

You'll probably find you can get all the attention you need without being such a monumental dick for no apparent reason. You appear to know your stuff and seem to have a reasonable level of intelligence, so why you feel the need to utter such random crap at times baffles me. What you said just isn't OK to most normal people, and I suspect you know that fact.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Sep-14-2010 12:43:

most people are dense so that is totally ok. Any person with a modest level of intelligence would know I wasn't condoning rape or being a racist. The context was clear and any one that took it the wrong way can go suck a lemon. They make worse jokes on family guy which is on prime time TV. I don't post to make you happy and I really don't care what you think. Political correctness is for light beer drinking gaylords. My posts cater to those with a certain threshold of wit and if you don't meet that mark, well that isn't my problem. If you don't like my posts, chances are you are quite daft.

you guys often rape my ears with the shit music you post but you don't see me crying wolf. So please suck it up and stop being such negative nancys.

Posted by Zak McKracken on Sep-14-2010 12:45:

imagine all the cool stuff u could get for 5000$, like REALLY FUCKING good monitors! these analog synths sucks ass. lets make this an hardware software thread: software>virtual analog>true analog. analogs are random, uncontrollable, its like using a hurricane as ventilation or lightning as power-source.

I've laughed at rape jokes before and then felt bad, but I didn't even laugh at yours. I just felt bad that people like you think that shits funny.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Sep-14-2010 12:55:

because it is a stereotype. the same reason people laugh at racist jokes. Not because they are racist but rather the fact that people actually think like that which is what makes it funny. It was completely random and out of place which is what made it funny. Am I going to have to start giving you morons tutorials on comedy now ? I find it interesting that you've laughed at rape jokes so it obviously isn't the subject matter at hand. Perhaps you just don't like me and this immature bias disables you from enjoying a nice salient joke. Either way , it is you that is calling more attention to the post than it actually deserves. Get a life.

digi! this shit belongs in the cor.

Posted by kitphillips on Sep-14-2010 13:00:

Em... No. I should by all rights like you, you have a reasonable amount of talent, but your attitude's sadly fucked.

Also, on your logic, it appears that everyone who doesn't like the joke simply dislikes the joke because they dislike you. Given that everyone in the thread dislikes the joke, does that mean that everyone dislikes you or...?

How about you just stick to discussing production, and that way more people might like you.

Probably his best option.

Yeah, I definitely agree. But, I think DJ RANN nailed it when he said that there are those who will buy it just for the sake of having it, regardless of whether or not there are more practical/less expensive options. Buid it, and they will come, so to speak.

That hasn't worked for me.

As far as M4B goes, I think you guys just need to understand that he uses shock value as a humorous way of driving a point home. He's not the first one to do it and maybe it's not as effective in written word as it is in spoken word, but I think that once you get past that, the flame wars will die down a bit. And, I'm not defending him or implying that eveybody is just too sensitive, just clarifying it from the POV of someone who sees him write things so outrageous that they are obviously in jest, and watching everybody fly off the handle. My 2 cents - take it or leave it.

I Love my Voyager Electrib Blue, That Arturia shite doesn't even come close. BUT i rather buy a seperate 251 and 351 than buying an XL. (and save 1K)

i'm not going to censor myself for your convenience. Learn to ignore people that bother you. You totally made a mountain out of a molehill. And replace reasonable with incredible and I might agree with you. And that isn't a statement of ego, but rather an acknowledgement that i've spent the last 26 years doing music on average 6 hours a day. I played concerto's with the mso with I was 9 and was labelled a child prodigy. I've studied so many aspects of music that I what i've discussed here doesn't even scratch the surface. I apologize if I come across as a dick. Communication isn't my forte. However I think the fact that I'm running a contest with money from my own pocket with absolutely no reward for me shows what sort of person I am. Actions speak louder than words. So if you don't like my posts , tune out as I won't be changing my written stylistic prose any time soon but please don't insinuate that underneath my lack of tack is someone that isn't a nice person.

No, everyone really is just too sensitive.

Not to derail the thread but seriously, it's amazing. Nobody can take an insult, or a joke or anything. Even when they're coming from someone who otherwise contributes more than the people who are whining about them.

I've been going to other forums for years and it's honestly just weird how sensitive some of you guys are. I've never seen anything like it before. If you guys want to be strictly professional or whatever then go ahead and try, but this is the internet and good old-fashioned trolling isn't that big of an issue. It makes things fun. If it's not your cup of tea, ignore it, but bitching about it is a MUCH bigger distraction than anything MFB does.

Being sadly ignorant about this modular synths i think there are better things to invest 5000$, is a reasonably good cat bed though.

Youre right, 5K$ is a lot of money, but some just can afford it, you have people buying 5K TV's 25K of home cinema, etc....

It's what you want to spend you money on isn't it?

Posted by Zak McKracken on Sep-14-2010 21:03:

id rather use those 5k on a decent stereo.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Sep-15-2010 01:21:

Once my parents croak , I will inherit a few million and I will buy everything and post pictures just to piss you off. I will probably start a label with no budget in mind giving EDM producers ridiculous amounts of money to make music. I'm not very frugal and have absolutely no concept of saving. Not saying i'm spoiled, I had oldschool european parents. I earned that money!

I seen pretty good Jupiter 6 being sold for only 800 euro's and it's polyphonic. Price has gone up though of those things.

For $5000, I'd rather get a real vintage analog synth instead of modern analog synths like a Prophet 08. Probaby you can buy yourself a modular analog kit for that kind of money.

Wow, you sound like Tony Wilson about to start factory records.

Remember, no contracts just a swift handshake and a big bag of special K.
