Also, I finally found a car wash place (actually, a van) that cleans the damn windshield properly.

Where is my can opener?

Awesome. If I ever peeled potatoes, I'd be all over that.

Ania, you do realize that what you posted is called a potato peeler, right? Wtf were you doing? Using a knife?

Loud, takes much longer, requires holding a knife by the blade, can be avoided FOREVER for $2.25.

Do you reckon it could open my salt and pepper shakers? They have been sealed closed by some kind of other-worldly force.

This is the only kind of mandolin that I am familiar with.
Do you play it in the kitchen?

i have a metal one too for big jobs, but the starfrit is much easier for small jobs.

Takes too long to cook for a lot of people with the small one, but for solo meals it is perfect and way easier to clean.

neato!

I still fucking hate peeling potatoes. Just not as much.

I simply drop them in ice water, and the peels slide right off in seconds. Try it, you'll never go back.

Quite possibly. Mine remains undefeated by any household container, though, admittedly, I have not tried it on such a stubborn job. I'd suggest some pump pliers, but I doubt that's conducive to the aesthetic you're going for with said shakers.

...yes, pump.
