Don't laugh, I got my last two pairs at Costco and not only are they cheap, but they replace the lenses for ANYTHING! Small scratch, scuff, they just order you a new pair. One frame broke at the hinge and they didn't have the same frames in stock, they replaced it with a frame of my choice and the lenses.

That is good to know. I have a pair of Costco glasses and they are falling apart. I wonder if their is a time limit on the repairs?

Don't know, probably 2 years perhaps?

I just know Costco's policy on returns (Used to work there one summer), and it pretty much is, if you return it, they'll take it and exchange it, if they don't have it, they'll find something to replace it with.

With their markup being so low, but the memberships and everything, it's easier for them to just say fuck it, replace it and keep you a happy customer and paying the yearly membership fee...

Wonder if they will throw a fit about the difference from Toronto vs. Brampton/Mississauga?

Call their customer service guys and ask. Just don't tell them your name

Warby Parker.

I don't think they want proof... hmmm, how do they prove that? One could just sign up for the lowest lense and get the frames for fee essentially...

dude I do not own one lol
places I go check eyes on the spot but it's free so you don't get any paperwork from them

but good point, you can just get the frames and change the lenses!

I knew someone that used to work at Costco, and from what I recall, they didn't have any return date. It was whenever. I heard they're really good at returns.

Kinda like Wal-Mart, eh?

No questions asked *whatsoever*, unopened or opened.

I remember the 2nd last time was down in NC, we wanted to watch some DVDS in our hotel, so my friend just went out and bought a DVD player to use in the hotel.

And then simply returned it the next day. Such a scam.

LOL. It was as easy as that, not even a question asked abt why we were returning it.

In my experience, the designer pairs usually do tend be sturdy... and they look better too. But it's not a selling point for my glasses to NEED to have some brandname on the side, if I find a pair that I like and they're strong, couldn't care less who makes them either...

I'm calling tomorrow, will let you know... PM your address just in case they say it has to be a Toronto address/postalcode tho...

Now where did my old prescription go?

Posted by Sushipunk on Sep-24-2010 23:20:

So did anyone do the promotion thing? How did it go?

Posted by psyrel on Sep-25-2010 01:24:

Really well. My sis wanted a pair of shades, so it was $30 extra for the tint. So $43 in total, including shipping, not bad at all!

Good stuff!

I didn't get the email till 2pm, which is fine because I was WAY to hungover from the bday festivities the night before to even navigate walking up the stairs, let alone the internet or a website! Then I figured i've missed the boat on the deal. I happened to have to go to Costco for something else and stopped off to get my prescription printed up...

So I gave it a go....

1) Went to the site, found frames, put in my prescription and ordered and paid for them, ended up being $79 for frames and lenses (remember I have shitty eyes, so I had the thin lenses), then after I realized I used my Windsor address because Google Chrome autofilled my address...

So I tried to cancel but didn't want to, because I hope that they maybe wouldn't notice...

2) Just to be safe, I bought another pair, with different email address, different shipping (Toronto address that Funky gave me...) and different credit card, so they don't know it was me again lol... and that one cost me $70 because the shipping was free...

SOOOO I potentially have 2 pairs of glasses coming... all for the price of what I usually pay for one frame, or one lense on it's own!

What frames you score?

Did they have any good Oakley eyewear?

Anything namebrand is non-coupon... but they had some Oakleys I think, some nice sport glasses...

I got...

AND

Just checked the site, my second order to the Toronto address is in "Fulfillment" mode, my first order with the pair I REALLY want, the grey frames is still in "Order Processing" mode.... I hope they don't cancel it because of the wrong address lol!

AND THEY cancelled my first order, for the Grey pair... those are the ones I really wanted, but the order for the 2nd pair, which was sent to Toronto is on it's way and should be there tomorrow!

Posted by Sushipunk on Sep-28-2010 07:48:

Damn, unlucky. Still, one pair is a good deal in any case. Hope they're good glasses

I bought a little kit a lot time ago. It's really small, so you can carry it with you on vacay. Has a tiny screwdriver and screws in case your glasses break while on vacation.

I need one too! I always lose them from my sunglasses

The sent me an email saying it didn't qualify, but to call in and maybe they could offer me the frames at a better deal... perhaps I'll call when I'm at work. The lenses only cost me $84 with tax, what's another $50 to get nice pair of frames, they also were offering 50% all frames on the weekend with a different coupon code. I could probably work something out on the phone....
