I just decided to try this game yesterday, as it looked pretty interesting. I was playing for like 6 hours

I'm playing with a torrent right now but I'm definitely buying this asap, especially considering it's only like <$15 right now and you get all future updates for free

If you guys are interested in a Free-to-play (for now) MMO that has kind of similar gameplay, check out Shores of Hazeron:

It's kind of like Eve meets Spore meets the Civilization series. Quite a few hundred people play it I guess, though it's obviously still in Beta (hence the graphics). But you can start and maintain your own empires, fully customize your very own ship with an in-game CAD-like interface, splice together different creatures' DNA from different planets, then import them to other planets to develop whatever trillions of combinations you like. It's doing some pretty advanced stuff, and tries to stay as realistic as possible.

hahaha, I knowwww. Everything is placeholder though, of course. It's a pretty small team of guys working on it, and not even a single graphic artist among them, if you can believe it.

Once you get into it DF is a very addictive game. I highly suggest getting a graphics mod and keeping the wiki open when first playing as both help a lot

Ugh I fell asleep early tonight, but turned out my body was like "oh its just a nap" Fucking minecraft dreams the whole time... So annoying!

I stopped playing.. just got boring now!

Maybe due to the recent exposure the game got? Dunno, the last i heard the guy made about 750k EUR all together...which is still pretty fucking sweet! And up until now it was only one guy working on it (which is why all the coin goes into his pocket).

Nope. From my experience in internet land and playing MMOs, a lot of these can often be middle aged men with wifes, kids, jobs, the whole shebang, as crazy as that sounds.
