Wanted to give this thread a bump to see what people have seen lately.
I just saw The Lincoln Lawyer. The story was unpredictable and I thought the movie was great right down to the wardrobe and music.
The Adjustment Bureau...not gonna lie, I cried. lol I thought the movie was entertaining, but I don't think I'd nominate it for an Oscar. It definitely had less action than I thought it would.
Little Fockers. I love this series, but this one was the worst one by far.
I've also rented a bunch, but the names escape me.
There was one really good one that I would have recommended as well. I'll have to do some thinking!
Some others...
The Tourist - I love me some Johnny Depp, but dear God this movie was awful.
The Next 3 Days - I thought this was an interesting story. Russell Crowe was great in it. There was a scene near the end that was a bit ridiculous, but for the most part I really liked it.
The Nobel Son - Loved this. I thought it was hilarious. Great performances by all.
The Box - A freaky movie. I didn't like the story in the end though.
Salt - So much potential, and nothing delivered. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's right up there with 40 Days of Night. I can never walk out of a theatre, I have to see a movie through to the end even if it sucks. Ian was falling asleep in the threatre and I kept waking him up b/c he had to be tortured too! lol
On the topic of movies as well, I remember Shutter Island was a preliminary 2011 Oscar Contender. Does anyone else think it completely got snubbed???
The Town IS amazing. Jeremy Renner is badass.
Also, you guys should watch "Moon" with Sam Rockwell, so amazing.
some of the good movies we watched recently:
Millenium trilogy (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movies)
Buried
Fair Game
The Social Network
The Fighter
Source Code (surprisingly good!)

| Originally posted by magikb I wanted to see the Lincoln Lawyer, but Mark thought I wanted to see that just for Matthew McConaughey and he doesn't like him, so I didn't get to see it. Disappointed to hear how good it was now! I also wanted to see Little Fockers since I love that series as well. I am glad I didn't waste my money. I will have to wait for it to come onto TMN. We did attempt to watch The Other Guys last night even though I have a hate on for Will Ferrell. The movie totally sucked! We shut it off half way through because we couldn't stand it. We generally don't go out to see the newest movies, but we have seen some older ones recently too: Dinner with Schmucks Due Date Going the Distance Time Travelers Wife Extraordinary Measures and my favourite of the ones we've seen lately is, Everybody's Fine with Robert De Niro, Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell and Kate Beckinsale. I'm looking forward to seeing Buried on Friday and seeing Toy Story 3 again the following week ![]() I think it did. I actually really liked Shutter Island. There were many twists to the story. I have watched in a few times now. |

I saw Hanna last Friday and it was pretty good. I think it could have been better, but was still pretty good.

| Originally posted by Jem_hadar I CANT WAIT TO SEE: LET ME IN Based on teh Sweedish movie LET THE RIGTH ONE IN, it's an American remaking of it directed by Matt Reeves. The movie is based on the book of the same name (Let the Right One In) by swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist. I havent read the book yet (been on my list for abt a year and a half now), but hope to by the end of October. It's next after I finally finish reading Anthony & Cleopatra. Its essentially more of a Stephen King, horror-esque take on a story that involves a vampire. Very dark and creepier and intense. (Note: it originally came out in 2004 in Sweden, so it predates Twlight, lol) |

Paranormal Activity 2
I was super pumped for the first one and saw it in theatres. I was very disappointed, however. I found it slow moving and not scary in the least. Plus, I find movies filmed all in handy cam really hard to watch. When I heard there was going to be a second one, I was skeptical and decided to wait until it came out on video. I kind of wish I didn't now. It's leaps and bounds better than the first one. A lot more action and story, and a lot scarier! I have yet to see the alternate ending to the 1st one.
I guess there's a 3rd one coming out in October.
