I was just talking to my friend about this. Not a fan. I don't know about you, but I love the experience of going to Blockbuster and just roaming through the store trying to pick a movie. You lose that with Netflix. Plus, you don't get the movie right away and I'm told you may not even get your top pick? What the hell is that?

I'm not sure if you can download movies from them - but even still, I wouldn't want to. I don't want to watch movies on my laptop all the time, nor do I want to have to hook up my laptop to my TV.

I want to go to the movie store and rent a movie dammit.

its not the company's fault when it trial agreement (to which the consumer agrees to when they sign up for the trial period) states that they will be billed for service after the trial period expires if they do not cancel.

Live with the advancement or stay inept.

Exactly. It's the same with digital books too at school. I like having the hard copy in front of me so I don't have to stare at a screen more than I already have to.

WTF are YOU talking about. Have fun living in your house and never leaving b/c you can do everything online now.

Sorry I like to interact with real people and watch movies on a screen bigger than my monitor.

you would be surprised how many people still call in and complain even when the terms and conditions are right there..

most of the time you are forced to remove the fees otherwise you may lose future clientle with these tactics.

That's not even a good comparison.

It is known as a fact that words per minute read from a screen is much lower than reading from a book.

You would not say the same shit if I found you all the PDFs for your books for free.

Sorry for interacting with fake people

Lol? Thought you were smarter than that.

Anyways. It's called easy access. Such moronic response from a typical "I'm a social girl". I've sure never heard that argument before.
What do you like about Blockbuster? The smell? The line? The price?

I might as well pay for a subscription and watch movies whenever the I want.

Posted by VDub on Sep-23-2010 01:52:

Lisa they're not doing the DVD thing here. Only streaming...

And I've been looking through the selection and it's not all that great but its still worth the 8 bucks... For now...

I also have it through my PS3 for the tv and I can watch on my iPhone...

I do agree about the books and magazines though...

just my 2 cents

I'm NOT arguing against that
I'm poiting out what could be avoided set the account to disable after 1 month and Bob's your uncle

You're an idiot. Open your eyes when you read. When did I compare how fast one can read on a screen compared to a book? MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE is to read a text book in hard copy b/c I don't like STARING at a screen. Plus, I can bring a highlighted textbook into an exam, can I bring a computer? No. And it's funny you mention PDFs, b/c one of my profs gave us the textbook for free on CD. And I'm printing it out b/c I want a hard copy.

What the fuck are you talking about fake people?

And again, open your eyes:

I find a lot of hidden gems that way.

When it comes down to it, it's called personal preference. You like staying at home and downloading movies, I don't. Deal with it. There was no reason to jump on me right from the start. I'm done with you, enjoy sitting in front of your computer screen 24/7.

I see. Still not my thing though. If I knew exactly what I wanted to watch then maybe - but only if I don't have to pay a monthly fee. But like I said, I like going to the store.

Zip.ca still works for me; 2 BluRays per month for $10 plus they are adding downloadable service in the next few months.

I won't get Netflix until they release the Xbox integration in Canada.

teksavvy doesn't.

If you want more bandwidth. Just switch to Teksavvy and get MLPPP. Double DSL connections. It will cost you, but you get up to 10 Mbps (down) - 1.6 Mbps (upload) for $84.

unlimited bandwidth

Or just sign up for their cable internet service which is 54 bucks and unlimited.

That's a nice deal. How does it work? I'm assuming you have to pick the movie you want to watch a day or two in advance?

How else was she supposed to interpret what you said? You blatantly criticized her opinion of preferring to rent movies...if you were trying to be sarcastic about it, you obviously didn't do a good job...

My Bell Sympatico is on contract and locked at unlimited, never going to change it!

My only downfall, is that it's not as fast as I would like it (500kB/s - 700kB/s) especially to stream movies... i'm currently trying to have them not touch my plan/package but increase my speed, if that pans out FUCK YA!

Netflix thing is not my thing, I can download whatever I want and stream it through my PS3 or burn it to a DVD or CDR and watch on my Divx player... so it's not a win for me...

But I will sign up for ease of use and the price for my mom so she can watch a movie whenever she wants without hassling me or my bro to find it and set it up for her...

Plus you watch it through your Wii or PS3 or Laptop... why the fuck not!

I've realized this, I used to work for Rogers selling phones, then other companies, and i've been a customer myself of Bell, Telus and Rogers.

The best is Rogers for customer service as a customer, and the best for service as someone selling the product.

Rules are sometimes stupid, mobile service is sketchy at times (like yesterday :whip and their rates may tend to be higher than average over other companies at times.

But every time I had to call in to get help, when I change contracts, or had billing issues, I may have had to fight with some reps, or had some issues (but you get that anywhere, it's not Roger's fault that one or two out of the thousands of people they have on the phones are douches), i've always gotten what I needed or wanted within reason.

They even try to keep as much of their tech support inhouse ie. RIM/BlackBerry when the prefer to deal with their customers from start to finish rather than send the customer off to someone else.

But then again, I only use them for my mobile use, don't have Rogers down here for phone or cable... maybe that's different?!
