Really? Its a pretty nice venue... only thing is the bar is in the middle of the room....

Just wanted to add a big LOL. Not too proud of pushing the limits to end up looking like that, but you have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes. I know just about everybody else has been there - some of the scariest/funniest things I've seen are when the lights go up or daylight hits at the end of a party.

Ditto. There's always gems in all genres, or something that a person can identify with even if others aren't feeling it. You can even take it out of EDM and extend it to all music. I'll always love me some Johnny Cash when the time is right even though country isn't my thing or Joni Mitchell for folk. Music just rocks - period. Cheers.

he is a must see for me as well.

Ahaha. Amazing. I can see the venue from my couch.
Guess I'll have to go.

Buddy I used to go from Friday at Meow to Monday at Space and every place in between and I never looked like Ricky in that picture so I'm not sure what your post is supposed to mean...

I'm just sayin' some of us go overboard sometimes and end up with the zombie look at the end. It happens and in most cases it just means you left it all out there partying your heart out. The skasian barb at you was just a playful jab because you seem to harp on it in some of your posts. Not sure why and I don't care, but there was an opening here to poke a little fun at both me and you at the same time. Cheers.

This makes me more excited to be at a different venue for once.

Never really considered Ricardo a minimal-only DJ, at least not in the ploddy-plink-plonk type stuff. He mixes in good bits of house / classics / techno also. Recall reading an interview from him complaining about 'DJs playing nothing but minimal, it gets too boring - you need to play some House to get girls onto the dance-floor.' (or something to that affect).

I like his sets where he plays some obscure/unexpected/weird stuff, when he's in 'playing the hits' mode, not nearly as interesting.

Where is Maison? never heard of the place

So Ricardo is going to T.O. !!??

Happy for you guys!

I recommend throwing an intimate after-party and inviting him over after his gig... Truly memorable experience, trust me!! He keeps the best records for parties like that lol!!

lol

very interesting

Hope to be there - especially after the DEMF fail

I think my drying out, on the wagon spell should be over by this party if not earlier. Sneaks B-Day Beats in TO always deliver a sexy crowd and monster vibe. I'll never forget the one at Industry with a Daft Punk DJ Set just as the French duo were starting to blow up and cross over into mainstream stardom. Sheer Madness!

I've never heard Villalobos spin and haven't downloaded a set, but some of the comments here are pretty encouraging and everything else about this party seems to spell E-P-I-C.

Posted by LightsOut on Sep-28-2010 02:04:

really hoping for an afterparty

That would be Aaaamazing!!!

I used to go to Schmooze on Fridays after 5pm...from what I recall its not a very large venue. Bet this party will sell out quite quickly...
